Do jars need to cool slowly to ensure proper sterilization?

Hey,
I was PC'ing an LC jar today when I stopped and thought about how inconvenient it was to wait overnight before the jar was cool enough to use. I was wondering, is it necessary for grain/LC jars to cool slowly in the pressure cooker overnight to ensure proper sterilization, or is it perfectly acceptable to dunk the pressure cooker in ice water after the 1hr Pressure cooking? The second method would allow you to inoculate the jars after only a few minutes, instead of waiting overnight, but I was just unsure if it was essential to proper sterilization for the PC to cool for 18-24 hours.
Any thoughts?

If the temp of the jars changes to rapidly it could crack, but I'm not sure if running them under water could really cool all the way to the center of the jar.

It's probably better to just leave the jars cool down in the PC overnight, just a conclusion based on what I've read on shroomery , but if someone else posts that it is alright to dunk like you mention and why; then CHEA. I plan on waiting for the LC to cool down after the PC, when I give it a go tomorrow, just to be safe.

Sound reasoning. I'll probably let my current LC cool, the next, I'll try what I explained above and see if any problems arise.

I wouldn't run cold water on them to hurry the cooling, this hobby is all about patience. At the very least I'd let them cool inside the PC for a few hours until you can handle them with your hands then put them in a tupperware in the fridge to cool, but only if you had to

I am on my first and current grow. I just pced for 45 minutes. Left in there for an hour. Then set them on the counter for 7.5 hours. Seems to be colonizing fine for me. Overnight isn't technically necessary. And the hotter inside may keep the spores more warm when you inoc them to the sides.

Almost bet that you get contaims, Only 45min- AT LEAST AN HOUR 90min is the standard- And the Warm causes more bacteria to grow they like 80 plus degrees- Spores do not. But hey if it works for you give it a whirl
