extreme condensation?
    #14492974 - 05/22/11 07:47 AM (12 years, 9 months ago)

i've got one of those kits that you put in a plastic bag i've just looked at it this morning and inside water is dripping down the sides i've never seen half this condensation can anyone explain this.
and this is the second flush but like the first the number is'nt bad but they hav'nt grown very tall atall could this extreme condensation in the bad have anything to do with this?
and last the bag has one of those white squares near the top for air but still i doubt there air gets recyceled that well could this be a reason for them not growing to tall?

Cut the top of the bag off even with the substrate.  If you need a bit of extra humidity, you can lay wax paper over the top and let the mushrooms push it out of the way as they grow.

doesn't it mean there's 2much humidity, when the bag is practicly soaking round the sides?

Condensation on the sides of bags (or any fruiting chamber or spawning container) denotes the temperature difference between the inside of the bag and the ambient room temperature.

I think what RR is saying is, if after you cut the top of the bag off  and if humidity drops off, "you can lay wax paper over the top and let the mushrooms push it out of the way as they grow."

I don't think you want to fruit in the bag. So RR is let you know to cut the top off to create FAE.  In exchange for FAE you will also get extra evaporation.  Putting wax paper over the top will keep more moisture closer to the substrate and reduce transpiration a bit.

is this correct?
