I would but I don't have a growery setup yet. Not to mention, I'd rather grow free wild ones (probably just field mushies or something) whilst I learn the ropes.

Looks like a bit too much pillaging these days.

Shouldn't people only take mushies that have opened and started releasing spores?

Shouldn't people snip them off at the base instead of pulling them out by the 'roots', so that the mycelium stays in the ground to fruit later in the season?

Respect the land and preserve the resource.

It frustrates me to see every new spot i've found in the past 10 years get crowded with amatures who rip up every mushroom they spot, active or not, and within two seasons render the spot fruitless.

I dunno, just thoughts.

I'm liking this crappy weather we're having . Before this weekend, don't think I've seen anything that even looks like rain for a fortnight.

Cool Gymnopilus.

Your Amanita looks close to Amanita australis, I am not very good with Amanita ID's though.

It might not be, but it was the closest I found with a quick search around.  Does have a skirt like this?

Edit: Nevermind it's apparently only found in NZ.

im pretty sure it did altho the stipe never grows more than like an inch maybe 2 tops and the cap is seemingly different aswell. in person they seem to realy resemble an a. muscaria but with slight differences and change of color, ive tried to search for it on the net but never been able to find anything on them. next time i go out ill pull one out and photograph the whole thing and with a more detailed i.d coz im sure that pic isnt a great help haha
