Yeah it's pretty fucked IMO. I just see it as another mild form of animal abuse, but its not exactly dog fighting.

Are the horses well treated? If so, I got no problem with it. Horses love to run.

Why would it be wrong?

Being totally pampered and running around a track a few times a year seems OK to me.

Well in the big race today it took around eleven people to put a horse in the gate. I'd be surprised if every horse enjoys this.

It's a great job for a very few people, like any other sport. Jockeys pay a price the way football players do.

The horses in horse racing exist only for horse racing. If it didn't exist, the horses bread, wouldn't have been.
And when they're retired they sit around all day eating and fucking to make fast babies. (unless they become glue)

Not necessarily, I'd hope that any race horse worth anything would have a luxurious life and horses certainly are not the only animal used to serve human needs, even if it is only entertainment.
I guess thats the thing though, the owners with the most money can take care of their animals properly while other people without money or the knowledge of how to accommodate and train horses may run into problems.

Horse racing is not wrong. It's just another sport. Anything that moves, somebody will race it. Hot air baloons, planes, lawnmowers, a couch with wheels on it, whatever.

I'm sure they are well taken care of if the horse wins. If its a looser it's probably not pampered.

I don't know much about it my reaction was more instinct, but I am sure they would be much happier with the mother tribe somewhere in the wild.
This is coming from PETA mind you, but still worth the read:

But it's not neglected/treated like shit, either.

Why do you say that? Do you think all domesticated horses would be happier living in the wild?

I'm not sure if anything from PETA is worth reading.

I think it is better to relax on this issue and concentrate on more serious problems.
