psychedelics and making a living

This is a pretty general question I'm just throwing out there. It can be looked at any which way.
Has tripping ever given you insights into what you do for making a living?

Myself- I haven't tripped in a while but it did make me want to be a musician as a career and I have done a little searching but 2-3 years later nothings come of it so I'm still keeping my eyes open but I may just do some other random jobs for now and teach some guitar for money

Tripping made me realize that I hate what I do and would be better off doing something I love.

There should be a three-way intersection of what you are good at, what you love to do, and what someone will actually pay you to do. Find that spot and you're good.

This is the conclusion I've come to. Personally, I'd kind of like to not do anything career wise. Just be, and experience life. Do different things, depending on my fancy at the time. Unfortunately that's not really a viable option. So I try to find a middle ground... and I'm still looking.

I work at a hotel 3 evenings and 2 nights a week. Tripping just reminds me that I love my job, but I wish I had the permanent night shift. Unfortunately, that title will not be mine until the guy who is there dies or something...

Haha. Its funny cause I bet I could pull it off. I've thought about it, and something like shoot > car > drive very far away to a specified spot to drop the weapon > ditch clothes > go home and never speak a word about it.
Especially cause I know his entire routine and the security surrounding him.
But I sound like a madman right now, so I'll stop. Plus, he's a nice guy and has a family, and I can barely squish a spider let alone end a fellow human's life over a job.

That sounds chill. I've thought about working at hotels before. I like the hotel atmosphere/vibe

My job is awesome, although, I'm not sure if all hotels are this way. Its cool for the most part. The only possible "bad" things are
A. I don't do anything but sit around literally all day a week. I'm not fat, but I'm definitely not strong. I was once going into the Marines, and now I doubt I could do a single pull up. I spend too much time 'laxin' and smokin' pot.
B. I still have to deal with stupid customers sometimes.

time to get a little hippie here...
it taught me that i couldn't to put my efforts into a job where heiarchy and "moving up" is prioritized anymore, made me really follow through on my questioning of ethically suspect business practices by refusing to work for any of them, made me realize how many jobs are soul-sucking, feed more than necessary into capitalist structures and the accomodating desensitization and really forced me to come face-to-face with the importance of sustainability and permaculture...
I've since quit my job at Safeway, tweaked my career direction towards the latter, taking over my sister's personal pruning business, educating myself in horticulture and am looking eventually to form my own business planting vegetable and fruit gardens with the aim of self-reliance for people in urban environments.
Also, it helped my figure out what i wanted to use my education for. I had been switching majors for years, but i finally settled on something I was happy with

I dont post here anymore really, got paranoid about this site, but thats neither here nor there. I gotta say, it helped me. I had always said i was gonna start my own company and quit working where i was. Well a little over a year ago now I tripped a few times(shrooms), i had a lot so i tripped a few times to get used to the feeling, I've never had "drugs"(argueable, i know!). Well i had a heroic dose(purposefully) and flew to the moon and back. I havent touched em since, although im itching for another nice trip, someday soon i suppose.
But about six months later, I started my company! Finally! After years of talking about it, i did it! With the support of my wife, but its been all me! And its growing everyday and going very well! All i have is High school education, so most of it is self taught. Its been and still is awesome. Im making more money than ever and just enjoying life.
So yea, you can do whatever you put your mind to, if you trip on it! (Joking...kinda) Ask yourself what you enjoy doing(musician may be pushing your luck a little, nothing personal, you may be fantastic. BUT thats a next to impossible route to take) and think about how you can apply to a business setting, and do it!! Really you dont even have to find something you like doing, just something thats profitable! It just so happens that the business i was doing, IS profitable, so it worked out.
Good Luck to you friend. I hope you figure out what path your gonna take and flourish. Peace.

Last summer, I was hippie flipping and as usual on the comedown I got super depressed and started analyzing my life and realized I hated my life path. That's when it came to me sitting on a couch at a rave that I wanted to be a doctor. Haven't looked back since. Thanks shroomsss!

All pre-college degree jobs are all the same: you end up hating them within about 6 months to a year from the time you start. It's always a bunch of corporate bullshit, loss of "hours," or you hate the people there.
That's why I'm going to college to do what I want to do.

its called being lazy or unmotivated to do something you don't necessarily want to do. lol
I work as a network admin. and am lovin' it. Good pay and i get to basically sit around all day. Kindof like workaholics!
