Hey duder, not to be abrasive, but it's in bad taste to just bump your thread to the top of the list. People will view it, but bumping should only be done if you edit a post with new pics. I get really excited seeing your post has new input but disappointed that it's just being bumped

Can't wait to see those pics! There's some great woods out towards Cabot, between Jacksonville and Cabot off the service road on the east side. It's all public land, nice fishing hole back there too.

No asking location. Read the rules please, it's an easy way to either:
1. Get people in trouble 2. Get cops to that area 3. Get people in trouble
Thinking back to when I lived there, getting access wouldn't be super tough to areas cubes grow. Tell a farmer you'd like to collect manure for a garden, if you're white they're not gonna hassle you If you're like me they'd charge you or tell you to leave lol, especially in Cabot....bastards.
Half the fun of picking them is finding them

Yeah, I doubt anyones going to give their shrooms spot up randomly...
If they gave it up to someone they didnt know bad things could happen, like that person telling more people and someone doing something incredibly stupid and bringing attention to mushroom picking in the area, bring heat down on the field, run into the land owner and say something like (ohh man, so and so on the internet site the shroomery told me I could be out here)....
Find you a field, use some commons sense, ask around and find out who the owner is, don't be a shit head about it, and go see the owner. Don't be stoned or smelling like weed and booze when you do this. Tell them you're doing some landscaping and would like to get some cow poo. I wouldnt take more than one friend with me at a time, and I damn sure wouldnt be smoking or holding any grass when I went, there is a fair chance you'll have to talk to either the owner, a worker, or one of his family members. No reason to have them thinking for any reason you're shady....
As previously stated by Dr. in this thread, there really is no reason to go shrooming in the middle of the night unless you're hiding from someone. Here in Arkansas in rural areas(where cows are) if law enforcment runs into you its going to be the Game and Fish Comission, and they're going to assume you are hunting illegally if you are out there at night, no it doesnt matter if you don't have a gun(dont have a gun in another mans cow field by the way). They don't need a warrent, probable cause or any of that good stuff to search you, you're car, or even to follow you home and search you're entire house for illegal game at that point...
All that said, in the day, these things don't happen. Most wildlife officers know the local land owners and if you happen to run into a game and fish officer or a sheriff and you can say "Yes officer, farmer john brown lets me come out here and play with my metal detector" You'll be a lot better off...
Also, be smart, if you're supposed to be picking up poo for landscape work, leave that field with some poo... If the farmer happens to pull up as you're leaving "I couldnt find any" isnt a valid excuse for a man looking for cow shit in a pasture. At that point the gigs up and you're some hippie doing something strange in that mans field.
A little appropriate behavior and just general respect will get ya in places and keep ya there, potentially forever. Just don't let someone you told or took with you ruin it for you.

You've gotta have a Hunter's Ed card as well as a License, on you're person. You can also get a ticket for not having an ink pen on you if you're hunting something that requires you to tag it. Ahh yeah, you also have to have a state and federal duck stamp, and they both have to be signed across the front. I don't duck hunt much if ever anymore, the constant changing regs on water fowl is a pain. It's a good requirment. I mean all you've gotta do to get the Hunter Ed card is go sit in a class room for two 4 hour sessions, or like 5 1.5 hour classes and take a little easy test.
It more or less just ensures that everyone hunting has been told multiple times to make sure of what you're shooting, make sure of what's behind where you're shooting and not to point a loaded gun at your face or someone elses...
Not to mention the fact that they very briefly run over some basic hunting regulations so that when someone gets a ticket for doing something illegal there's really no reason to say "but I didnt know I couldnt do that"...
Hunting regulations are more relaxed here than anywhere I've ever hunted I think. Colorado is seriously hardcore, they have freakin road blocks on major highways(during elk/deer season in appropriate areas) looking for people transporting illegal game, not to mention that in Colorado a land owner doesnt have to post signs, purple paint, or fence land to keep people off. If a sheriff or dept of natural resources(wildlife officer) to ARREST you for tresspassing your first offence. Most states before you can be arrested for trespassing you have to first receive a "trespass warning", in other words you have to be told "this is private, do not come back here again" by a law enforcment offical.
South Dakota has off regulations, up there even if land is private, you can bird hunt the road sides in certain areas...
Florida will take you to jail over having a flounder that's an inch short of the slot(length) limit. At the same time, Florida is a bitch to actually get someone in trouble for trespassing on your land, and if the shrooms arent dried out, in other words, if they are freshly picked they're somewhat not illegal(grey area)...I can promise you that they will take them away from you though, seen it happen. You'll even get taken in and have to bond out most likely, but chances are it'll get dropped prior to court. All that said, I'm not a lawyer, and don't get caught in Florida with shrooms unless you intend on going to jail.

Yeah, I know right? What a first post...
"Uhhh hey guys, I know I'm a complete stranger and all, but umm, maybe would you give me the location of your best shroom spot?"
Hell yeah, why not, let's all start posting our best spots, so anyone with their friends, and their friends friends friends can go too... It'll be like a trespassing party, only with no shrooms!
