I am very interested in using ez felt on my tubs as I use it on my jars and am 145/145 clean 100% colonized following your method.   What size holes are you using on your 60-75 qt range tubs?  It looks like maybe 2.5-3"?

what happens if you use felt instead of stiff felt like EZ FELT? i feel like felt paper may be more accessible than stiff felt...One is stiff, the other isnt..

I saw felt paper with the same certification "ECO-FI". It just means its made out of recycled plastics..

(sorry if adding to old post)

Another thing I have to say about the Ez-Felt tek is that it has nothing protruding into your tub hanging over your sub possibly creating a little spot for mold to grow.  Last run I did I had 2 tubs where the sub lvl was kinda high and the holes were kinda low so the poly was pretty darn close to the sub.  Both tubs started to mold under one of the wads of poly about 1.5 weeks into 1st flush.:justfuck:  I am going to do another run soon of 8 tubs, and do 4 and 4 and do a solid pros/cons list on poly vs felt, side by side all other variables removed tub runs.  All have same amt of verm, gypsum, coffee, whatever, only difference is the filling/cover on the holes.

I know I'm bringing up an old thread but where do you find this easy felt stuff?

I'm sure it's been said a few times in here but... hobby and craft stores.  I could've sworn OP made that pretty clear.

Look for the brand "Eco Fi" the spelling on that might be off a little.

Edit: Eco-Fi not Eco Felt.

I don't think I know any store called craft store, so I was wondering what store is a craft store. Like what a name of a craft store.... for example the name of a bulk store... bulk barn. But its all good I found some "Stiffened Felt" not "Easy Felt" on amazon. $10 for 12 sheets 12x8 good bye need for ever buying SFDs. :bow2::bow2:

Did you try putting the phrase "craft store" into a search engine? I use DuckDuckGo, and the first three results are the websites to the three largest craft stores.

Anywhere store sells fabric, yarn, stuff for weaving baskets, modeling clay, and glitter paint would be considered a craft store.

You haven't dodged the need to buy SFDs.  You've purchased something crappier than SFDs to use in place of them.   They still don't have a proper filter rating.  I have a ton left over from when I used them on my second grow, but I stopped using them by my 4th grow.  A lot of them I can pick up and see straight through them.

Eventually you'll be like "I'm having issues and I don't understand why, maybe it's this craft felt that isn't made for filtering out mold spores whatsoever."  Ruling things out is nice.

Just used this for my lids in prep to inoculate rye berry grain jars with mss. Concerning monotubs are there many more logs to check out using this in place of poly? Without clicking every link I only found the one in the beginning. I'm leaning pretty hard towards using it in my monotubs I'm getting ready, but there's not much info on them I've found yet in monotubs. No rush just want to read more before committing. Thanks

I’m about out of SFDs. Gonna pick some EZ-Felt up since all grow suppliers have shut down shipping
