N. Maryland Panaeolus Cinctulus & UID's
    #14487422 - 05/20/11 11:21 PM (12 years, 9 months ago)

Found these growing on our lawn. just spread fertilizer last week and had about 5 days of rain:

P. subb?  (Havent ever found these but they match descriptions and photos to the T!)

This was in the mulch beds around the house:

Earlier in the day i went towards a creek that lay in the back of the complex. Plenty of mushrooms variety today!

Habitat for all of these. ( none were more than 40ft away from creek)

1.)
Never seen these before!
Pitted caps
White-manilla gills when younger to brown-tan mature

2.)

3.)

4.) (inky caps?)[purple-blackish gills]

5.) Huge Saddle's!

Came across this guy while snapping pics of a mooshie

I am not in maryland much so it was cool to see such a different variety today.
Still have many other pictures of other species from today as well.

All help is appreciated!

~Grova

1 is a Psathyrella species, I think.

Stem and gill shots would be helpful for your suspected subbs. They could be foes.

I think 2 might be Tremella mesenterica. Got any shots from further back?

The exposure on that picture was a little high.
I had a sample to check a spore print but it escaped me some how!

Will have to wait till 12hr/noon from now for gill shots and print at night.
But i am convinced i got some in the yard!

P Subbs are Panaeolina foenisecii and 4 is a inky cap, Coprinellus micaeus or similar.

5 could be either Coprinus disseminatus or Coprinus silvaticus i think.

Might 1 (and the most recent photo) be Psathyrella delineata?

I'm pretty sure it's not the former. The latter sounds closer.

Wondering could 3 be a Xeromphalina? Just a wild guess. Would love to hear if someone knows what it actually is.
