gentlemen,

let me start by saying I am a complete shroom novice. secondly let me apologize for the terrible pictures. I intend to head out there again and have another good look but I was just hoping someone could tell me whether I'm wasting my time or not.

there appears to be 2 or 3 different types in the area, smaller thin stemmed ones, big cap ones and then ones that look very similar to subs (the ones growing off the bark i have a good feeling about)

bad advice, dont eat until a trusted indentifier helps out

the first kind may not be subs.

the second kind look like they may be subs.

cut the caps off at the very top of the stem, and stick gills side down on a piece of white paper. Then place a glass over the top of the cap and wait 24hrs. To check the spore print

if the second kind bruise blue, they would be subs.

first few are Cortinarius, go back to the area you found these. Psilocybe subaeruginosa

2 and 3 made me think twice, although I'm not Farmiliar with subs. If they are the same as 5 OP then theyre good, because 5 and 6 are Psilocybe subaeruginosa.

Number 4 seems to be Subs also, they have that fabulous gold luster about them. You need pics of the mushrooms from other positions than birds' eye.

Good work though!

1-3. look like a Cortinarius sp.
4-6. appear to be Psilocybe subaeruginosa but better pics would help.

Stop telling people to eat random mushrooms. It's a really stupid thing to do on an identification forum and potentially dangerous.

they were all in the same area together so i suspect they may all be of the same variety.. honestly not experienced enough to tell you whether the blueish grey colors on the stem and on some of the caps are from bruising or not

gave them a rinse with water and started drying them out.. blue appears to be coming through much clearer and leaving residue on the paper and shit.. still waiting on spore print, would love some more input!
