sovereignty knowledge?
    #14483597 - 05/20/11 10:07 AM (12 years, 9 months ago)

so this 60 minutes piece on "sovereign citizens" shows an intense lack of political knowledge.

sovereignty is at the base of our political system, we are the sovereigns who give the government it's power.

what the fuck are they talking about when they label this new movement?

this shit is ridiculous?!! wtf? these people should be knocked off the air for being so idiotic.

the people who are interviewed are either stupid or portrayed as evil.

does this bother anyone? what do you think of it?

i can see the people in this being idiots, but so is the editorial for ignoring the historical definition of sovereignty and labeling these people sovereigns. yes? strange right?

better video, less youtube commentary.

well, i believe it is those who are in power ultimately, and we grant the government it's power in constituting it.

i feel at least more informed about it than these reporters appear to be. HUGE image...

if I'm gonna be thrown in federal prison, it's gonna be for something sweet, like carving the head of the Lincoln memorial into a dick.

I see, so what you're telling us is that the video is pretty accurate, that
the whole sovereign citizen thing is a big con in which someone makes a
little cash and the people that buy into this crap only land in jail

rules are pretty clear, most people follow them, if you choose not to then
you have the consequences to deal with, there's no sovereignty here

Isn't it amazing how hard it is to get people to explain their opinions and positions without linking you to some sort of reference that oftentimes isn't even relevant? How hard can it be to explain what you believe? Does anybody think for themselves?

Yes, let's declare ourselves to be "sovereign citizens" so laws don't apply to us and we can do as we damn well please.

is this similar as the "man of the land" movement that's supposedly taking place in canada?

Very nice

Yeah my step-dad was looking into this some 20+ years ago. I have a feeling if it was feasible he would be a sovereign citizen by now.

Just a good why to get destroyed by the government, fined, jailed, etc...

i attempted to explain, and to respond the way pris does, it's just loaded with ":fuckyou:" i don't want to mess with someone given such loose power, i've attempted to follow rules before and gotten banned, the rules obviously aren't clear enough for everyone.

it's a little bit of a bitch to have to explain everything you believe through internet posts. i'm not interacting with a proven troll, and one with unchecked powers at that.

anyone else think the way they cover this subject on this 60minutes piece is strange? i had come to think we were sovereigns inherently in the US. someone want to point out why i'm wrong so i can learn? i'm sure there's someone who would love to, the internet being full o trolls.
