Aw sheit. Do you know that the Bible essentially tells you you can do whatever the fuck you want, and as long as you maintain a concern for your fellow man you are guaranteed to go to heaven?
A lot of people don't know that.

I wasn't raised a particular religion. I don't know my dad's views. My mom doesn't subscribe to a particular religion but believes there is a higher power.
I wouldn't call my self anything. maybe agnostic. I don't know if there is or isn't a god and the answer to that doesn't concern me what-so-ever.

I'm honestly too drunk and lazy to get up and find specific passages in the Bible, but the fact of the matter is that the entire New Testament is about how you can do whatever you want and still get into heaven as long as you stay conscious. Jesus Christ died for our sins. Many preachers take this to mean that sin no longer exists, and I'm tempted to agree. Read Corinthians or Galatians, you'll see what I mean. I might come back later to give some specific quotes.

Was raised Catholic (also Catholic schools, etc.). My mom and some others on her side of the family are quite religious.
I've been a complete atheist since age 21 or so (I'm 26 now). The last remnants of my belief in some sort of God (generalized higher power) was hard to let go of. For years I found myself trying and trying to tie a higher power into science, but realized the futility in the end.
The final conflict was along the lines of "well, I'm not capable of understanding a higher power if it exists, so I'm agnostic".
Agnosticism is bullshit though. All day everyday we function by holding ideas/concepts to be true. Even if we don't have concrete proof of something, we can be as sure as we can be that it's true. We tend to hold a certain view to be true if the evidence weighs in favor of that view. Why should belief in a God be any different? There's no evidence of the existence of a God, so it's dipshit to say "well, it can't be proven right or wrong, so I'll be agnostic". By the standards of how my mind operates, it's wrong. For all intents and purposes God doesn't exist, i.e. God doesn't exist.
Holding a view based purely on faith and then interpreting the events of your life within that view leaves you molding the truth to fit your belief system. That's retarded, guys.

spirituality and religion wasnt a part of my life growing up. and then, i ate mushrooms when i was 16...
my parents dont buy into anything, so it wasnt ever really brought up when i was growing up. we would kind of just keep it real and talk about how ridiculous it all was. taking more of a scientific, logical approach versus blindly believing theres a sky wizard out there.

The Old Testament is actually about like four different Gods. There is El-Shaddai, the mountain god of healing; Yahweh, the war god; and then there's a bunch of Babylonian shit, just for the sake of syncretism.
Deuteronomy was written to consolidate the power of the King of Israel right before that country was sacked by Babylonians and a bunch of Israelis got kidnapped away to Babylon, and much of the rest of the bible was written by captured Jews to reconcile Babylonian religion with Deuteronomy.
The New Testament says that all these political events are no longer relevant and that you should do what you want.
Isn't it amazing that it took people so many thousands of pages to lay down such obvious facts?

Even if God existed (which I highly doubt), the Bible was written by man.
I end my case.

Sufism is an interesting religion. The aim is unity with God and ego loss. Definitely not what people expect from Islam.
