Spawning with bulk already once spawned

AFOAF has birdseed spawned into cowdung/wheatstraw mix and is waiting for full colonization, he wants to know if he could repeat the process with the finished colonized casing. He wants to use the fully colonized as a spawn to be put into even more dung/straw. Would this be asking for contams or would it possibly be a next step. Plus he is wondering if someone were on a timed schedule such as a concert coming up in 3 weeks could they not case and fruit directly, any downsides to doing this?

Yes, you can case directly with a slight slum in yields. You would realy be asking for contams if you try to use the caseing as spawn. Not saying it can't be done, but you might wast all that hard work in the end. Take a spore print from the biggest shroom you get from the caseing and knock up some more grain. :grin:

For conclusion, a guy I know would like to ask: "What if twice (or 4x) an eighteen gal., or so, thingy could, in part, be spawned into a larger, or much larger, batch of substrate?"
