stupid me it says 86 is perfect... anyways i just took a peep at my jar and i'm not sure if the mycileum is growing or not... i don't see any patches yet really but it does look like there's some white spots growing out of it. is this an idication that it's growing? it's been about three days. at 78-86 degrees... i covered the lids with tin foil and i put them in an aquarium with perlite on the bottom. not a thick layer, i felt it and it felt pretty dry except for around the outer edges there's light condensation on the glass. i don't know why i added the perlite so soon, i think i just wanted to check how well it'd work.

Lower you temperature to around 82 - 84, and read the FAQ :wink:

Yes keep them around 82-84f, for fastest results. The white spots is most likely growth. No need for perlite yet.

maybe take off the tinfoil.. i never leave tinfoil on my jars after innoculation

i dont even use the tin foil and i really havent had a prob yet. I all the jars i have done (about 20 lol) i have only lost 2. and that was in my first batch.
