Great stuff, Lord Mayo...some of the best I've seen. Are you using RAW format?
If I had to pick one...

"Panaeolina sp" is Psathyrella question: do australian guides list the Agrocybe as A. putaminum or A. sororia?

Thanks Bobzimmer! Yes, I'm using RAW with Lightroom 3. It's been a real treat.
Thanks The Thinker, I haven't got A. putaminum or A. sororia in any of my guides, that name was voted on Mushroom Observer so I'm not sure.

Amazing photos Lord Mayo, what camera are you using?
Also, are Lactarius eucalypti edible, just like Lactarius deliciosus?

Thanks aussieshroom, I use a Pentax K200D with a Sigma 18-50mm lens.
I'm not sure if L. eucalypti are edible. I think it would be hard to get the quantities for a decent sized meal as they are quite small.

Amazing post, some of the best shots I've ever seen.
That focus stacking really worked amazingly well.

These Mycena look awesome, did you get more shots of them?

I am not sure if this post inspires me to work harder at my photography or makes me want to quit in disgust.
Beautiful stuff, thanks for sharing them.

Excellent photography, Lord Mayo I particularly like the very effective and yet unobtrusive use of fill flash in most of your pics. This makes me want to head out into the woods and photograph some mushrooms myself, which I haven't done for far too long! Thanks for the stimulating post, mate!

Wow! The relative stem width and height is astounding!

And WOW! The patterns

Very high-quality photography! You have a wonderful eye for detail and beauty. Thank you for this treat!
Yeah and as koraks mentioned....can you describe your use of artificial lighting in these daytime photographs? Is the bulb attached to the camera? Separate? How powerful...please I'm all ears!

amazing pics, LM. Have any good tips or links to help us crappy photo takers? I've only heard of focus stacking in the last couple of months. What you are calling coprinopsis sp. looks just like what I call parasola plicatilis, do you guys have a diff. name for it?
