Mushroom identification
    #1447755 - 04/10/03 06:49 PM (20 years, 10 months ago)

AFOAF was cleaning a neighbors yard and found two bails of wheatstraw that had obviously been there for awhile, (grass growing from them, and sloppy on the underside) there was a few mushrooms growing from a small section on the underside, Here is a verbal identification: Cap: Dark grey, 3/4 inch long, 1/4 wide shaped somewhat like a rifle bullet. Stem: white about 4 inches long, couldn't see the spores because it wasn't opened but slightly, no veil, not looking for actives just like to know.

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C.S. Lewis
