Turns out my artificial grow has worked, im quite surprised as subs never grow in a controlled environment such as a pot etc.

That's awesome man! What steps did you use to make the artificial grow?

I was previously growing some Jalapenos and Capsicums in the pot, so i had Perlite, sand and good soil in the pot already. All i did was transfer mulch riddled with mycelium into the pot, put a light cover of woodchips over the top and voila, they start growing!

I don't care about quantity im just stoked they're growing.

How long did they take to grow? did you put the woodchip in last year or this season?

the patch should get more epic as time goes on as well.

keep in mind that its too late for one to create a mushroom bed in your garden or close vacinity that will fruit this season. it takes atleast a year for them to get going and be ready in time for next season to sprout up mushrooms.

I'm re posting this because I really need someone to respond to why I have two mushrooms that are active with two diff stems and gill colors?
Thanks again

Hello everyone,

I think I have two different type of Psilocybe here.
One of them has dark gills ,skinny short stem and the other has white to light tan gills with tall thick stems. I have found them close to each other but not in the same patch.
The tall ones were growing around a stump in some tall grass covered wood chipped area.

The other just out of wood chips like usual.
Im very confused why they have such different color of gills.
I thought I could really only find subs around here.
I also included a pic of some of the dry ones Ive collected over the past few weeks,Ive made honey with 72 grms of the rest of it.I plan on using about 75 percent of them to make honey for storage.
Last night I saw a black panther woman. She was very tall and covered with black short fur and tall slender body with the head of a panther.
I looked it up and it was the same thing that the Egyptians call bast.
I also saw her standing next to a pool of water and I knew that that pool was life or this realm that we live in.I saw people lost down in the deep end and I felt like it was my job in life to help pull them up and show them the light so they wont forget where they come from and to not loose their connection to their higher self.
Any ways thanks for reading ,and any thoughts on the pics?

They are both p.subaeruginosa.
They are not two different ones...
Do some reading, they vary in colour, shape and size.
This all depends what they are growing off, how much light, moisture etc.
Gill colour also depends on maturity.

That is correct. They are both subs.

Thanks man, I did see that they were growing out of tall grass on and around a stump so they had a little ways to grow to try and get to the top of that grass to spread their spore.I like how tall and wobbly they got.
Thanks again.

Uh, i transferred the mycelium to the pot 2.5 weeks ago...so not really too late.

Hello all,

Apologies if this is a bit OT but I have a question. Does anyone else here often get approached when hunting? And I don't mean by curious friendly locals. I mean the unfavourable bogan types. On two occasions I've been approached by this strange species. On the first occasion it was subtly suggested to me that I was picking in "their" territory (this particular park gets raped by dozens of people a week) and that I should find an alternative patch.

The second occasion (today) my haul was snatched clean out of my hands by some drop kick derro who then proceeded to run away accompanied by his other dick weed accomplices. Me and my friend who was with me at the time reluctantly let them get away with it. Said bogan kids were clearly amateurs trying to get lucky in the fading light of the day. Fed up with not finding anything they decided to confront us as we were leaving the park. I made the big mistake of not concealing the paper bag properly which probably tempted them more.

Its so unfortunate to see these kinds of douchebags ruining something that is meant to be about sharing and enjoying what nature offers. They couldn't care about anything more than their cheap high.

Has anyone else had to deal with similar scenarios? What might be the best way to deal with these fuckwits? Concealing my bag properly would be a good start I suppose.

i know alot of the local hunters around my area, i've been talking to them when i see them at the patch because recently a few patches have been ruined by some inexperienced hunters. i just approach them nicely and have a chat and ask if they know the basics of how to pick mushrooms sustainably and whatnot.

This dude i met today was a legend man, i was just passing by to check my patches after going to the gym, i wasn't going to pick anything, and i saw him over at one of the spots, so i wandered over and had a chat with him. guy is a legend man, he turned out to be a very interesting character indeed, hung out talkin with him while he was picking for like atleast 30-45 minutes.

Last year I had a few subs pop up in my front yard so I've been checking with no luck. Decided to check the backyard.  They've moved!
