First time grow - Pink Buffalo (with pics)----[first flush on half of jars finished]

Hello, Iam a first time grower. About a year ago I acquired some Golden Teacher and Pink Buffalo syringes. One of each. Around that time I attempted to inoculate some PF cakes with the Golden Teacher and put the Pink Buffalo in the fridge for the future. My bedroom got very hot that summer and the jars never seemed to fully colonize. I also used 1 pint jars which didn't help the situation. This time I decided to try to do it correctly, hopefully, with the help of some fellow mycofreaks
I used:
-1/2 pint wide mouth jars -Organic Brown Rice Flower -Fine Verm (realized I had coarse after the fact) -pressure cooker -tin foil -alcohol -Pink Buffalo Syringe -4x4x8 grow tent (was being used for tissue culture lab so it had heppa positive air flow into the entire tent. I felt like it was overkill though.)
I did all the steps in PFtek. Skipped the lids and used tinfoil by itself. Didn't flame sterilize the needle every time but did wipe down with alcohol. Jars seem to be colonizing quite well. I said it has been about 19 days. I was looking for a tupperware container to hold the jars since the ambient temp is too cold, but settled on a cardboard box. Not the greatest as the likelihood of contamination is higher with cardboard I would assume. I placed a heating pad under the box with a towel between it. It stays at a good temp without heating the bottom of the jars. There is also a layer of cardboard to insulation in the bottom of the box. Seems to be working just fine. The box stays at around 68-78 degrees.
I am very broke at the moment and has to save the cash for the fruiting chamber. I figure that it will be about another week before the jars are consolidated completely. I might start building the fruiting chamber tomorrow.
Thanks everybody! I will take any suggestions that might help.

Alright. So I was checking them today and everything looked fine. I did find on one jar what looked as if it could be a pin starting. I will admit that I haven't done much research on early pinning yet, but there are factors that I assume may cause this. The temp has been dropping at night lately and only has come down to about 65F. Could this drop in temp start a premature pinning?
Sorry I couldn't get a better picture with the camera I had.

I found what looks like a small little cluster of pinning in another jar and one other pin in the same jar I gave pictures of. Maybe I should just get the temp up and stop checking them as often lol. I also flipped the jars upside down so that the bottoms would maybe start to colonize a wee bit faster.
Should I let those pins go and give the jars another week or so to consolidate. Or should I birth these cakes and pick the shrooms off before dunk and roll?

Really? You think so? I was hoping I could let them go at least a little while longer as the bottoms still are not fully colonized. At least another week if possible.
I started to build my FC tonight. Got it most of the way done and then realized the perlite I bought is enriched with Miracle Grow. Rat bastards! LOL I opened one bag but I will take the other back and get the regular stuff. I don't need Miracle Grow floating around in the air. Plus it was loaded with little chunks of dirt and black things.
If you guys really think I can't let the two jars that are pinning go for at least a little while I will birth. I want to hold out as long as possible if I can though. Let all of the jars colonize.
Thanks for the input

Let them colonize. The early shroom in the jar will just keep growing and should not cause an issue.

Thanks Shroomy Dan. I was thinking the same thing.
If all goes well I would be up for some spore trading.
I will also post some pics of the FC when I finish it today hopefully.

I am currently doing a Burmese yangoon/Dancing tiger grow. Your's is looking great man I should have pics of my own soon enough. Does anyone think it might be a bad thing that I'm not sure which jars are which? Anyway if you want to do some trades after the first flush I'm totally done pink buffalo looks like it could be fun don't forget to donate some to like the FSR and such. I know I will be, happy growing!

Here they are after I flipped them upside down. The bottom of the jars are starting to colonize it seems like. However I am getting more pinning in a couple jars and one little guy that wants to grow.
I'm gonna let them go as long as I can, but I might just birth the couple that are really pinning. Fruiting Chamber is ready so all should be good.
OOOoohhh I can't wait.

You don't need to be a "cake guy" to help this gentleman out. I would have birthed those jars the day I saw the pins growing in vitro. The formation of fruiting bodies is telling you one of two things- Either your substrate is fully colonized or the substrate is contaminated and it is fruiting as a last ditch effort to reproduce. Either way, you take it out of the jar.

Should I clean off the uncolonized parts(there isn't much now) before I dunk and roll? Also should I pull off the little pins and knots before dunk and rolling as well?

Yes, clean off any substrate that failed to colonize. It may have been too wet or developed bacteria. Some people remove the pins prior to a dunk, and some leave them. The pins can withstand being dunked, but a lot of times they end up falling off anyway due to handling. It's really not a big, eventually more pins show develop.

It doesn't seem to be what looks like bacteria, but I'm no expert by any means. The cakes did shrink however and there is condensation on the inside of the jars. Could this have caused the pinning. I really do hope it's not bacteria. I'm hoping that if it is I can just wash off the cakes well before and after dunk and maybe get rid of it enough to let the mycelium take over.
Thanks for the responses everyone. Ill get some pics up once they are in the FC.
