Tripping & Sensory Overlap-Seeing Sounds

I took 12 hits three weeks ago, also had some DMT vaped during the trip. I could see sounds and they had color too. I then tripped off 2 hits (DMT also) the other week, and I could see sounds again. I think I discovered the ability to see sounds while i'm tripping.
I started clapping during my trip. it made a wave and ripple all around my hands with the sound. The sound stayed there for a bit longer then sound actually does, and so did the visual sight. When I hear people talking while tripping they have waves of color, almost identical to what you would imagine sound waves to be and they were protruding from the speakers mouth.
P.S. Also it would be cool to hear from some people who have experienced unique things after they hit DMT on LSD. The Next 3-4 hours always change for me. It's very intense, share some stories.
I find this to be very interesting. After I hit DMT on LSD things go bonkers and this starts to happen along with the trippin balls aspect of LSD. Does anyone have information or have similar experiences? I would hypothesize it has something to do with our senses overlapping but who knows man. Beforehand I always noticed visuals move with music, without DMT and just pure LSD. My buddy would play some trippy guitar, something like Syd Barrett would play. Just trippy guitar noises that are incredible and I noticed my visuals would fade in and out with the music but ever since the 12 hits this is very new, it's profound sound waves coming off of peoples mouths and they are colored. or transparent waves like when I would clap.
It intrigues me and that is all. Any input would be appreciated. I just wish I could kick it and enjoy my visuals without the massive mind fuck that happens as of late. Time for a break..after I get with this hippie girl tomorrow of course.

I'm not sure. I haven't been around the scene for long at all, this will be my first summer.
Me and the people around me think it's good so I'm happy.

I don't know if its the same, but while i was one a large dose of mushrooms, when stared at a wall hanging of Buddha meditating by the tree of life, i was inundated by the sounds of the wind blowing against the tree, and a calm breeze that blew over me. My perception turned from just looking at the 2D image of Buddha into actually being in the same location as him.
This is a bit different to your experience, but nonetheless it was a total sensory change as i could feel the non existent breeze, smell the fresh air and hear the apparent bristling of leaves all around me. It was probably the most euphoric moment i have ever had so far, i felt completely content. Pure nirvana. ~Tiz

I've never had visuals quite that intense, but I've also never done DMT.
You can definitely see sounds on high doses of LSD. For example- coming from a speaker. They are reminiscent of heat waves in the desert.
One theory I've always entertained: Perhaps we have the ability to perceive sound waves all the time. But the brain has evolved to filter this out as extraneous information (as it does with many other things)-
I mean, out in the wild, it could be disadvantageous and downright disorienting to see sound waves coming from every direction-- especially when sound does not need a straight trajectory toward you for you to hear it (like light does for you to see it), and listening is omnidirectional.

Yes indeed. Its one of those things you will know what it is when you experience it. My last experience with it was tripping on 2 really strong LSD blotters, in my black room. The visuals I saw I started tasting it was :feelsLSDman: and
On mushrooms I see sound on high doses

Very neat, thanks for the term. Time to try and find some research. The discription fit well, the whole screen of lines moving up and down different colors etc. This has only been experienced while in an aletered state of mind and not during my sobriety. Wonder how psychedelics can spark this.

Good article about Synesthesia. Although some scientific articles about how it happens and the relationship between psychedelics would be a good read. http://mazerunner.wordpress.com/2007/10/15/the-noetic-connection-synesthesia-psychedelics-and-language/

you can definitely see sounds in normal perception, a good(and cheap) experiment for this is to have a friend who is visibly standing 100-150 meters away fire a shotgun in the air. you can distinguish the sound visibly from the end of the gun, you will have to distinguish the gasses being expelled from the sound waves!

My girlfriend and I were discussing exactly this the other day. A few months ago on a Lsd trip we were seeing sounds, or maybe the air pressure from the sounds? Also we were laying in a hammock and a military jet flew overhead, we both perceived what looked like colorful waves coming off the back of it extending outwards. That was our theory as well, maybe we learn to filter it out because it would be distracting in day to day life.

Absolutely! I have wondered for the past 30-plus years if someone else had experienced what I had. And now I know it's real. Well I guess I knew it was real when I experienced it. Many years ago there was LSD on blotter paper and it was of a big flying eyeball. After you took it you could literally see the music come out of the speakers and each note with a different color. This was not an hallucination. Everyone else could see the exact same colors for the exact tone coming out of speaker. We could also see the energy coming from every power lines outside. The power lines were glowing bright. There were other people with us that we're not taking any LSD. We can see the power lines glowing a half a mile before anyone else knew they were even there. In a way it was a little explainable to me. LSD and Other Drugs like this dialate your pupils to ridiculous sizes. I think it turned our eyes and too mini microscopes. But he'll I don't know.

i was tripping on 2 105Ug 98% white fluff blotters watching the wizard of oz and when they went singing down the yellow brick road i seen sound/music and it was colorful and vibrant coming at me from the TV. very cool stuff. i havent been able to see it again though. i have also smoked dmt during a LSD trip and i actually kinda preferr to smoke dmt on lsd because i do not have the "pre flight jitters" like when im sober and anxiety runs through me... i find when doing it on the tail end of your lsd trip when i come back from a breakthrough my lsd trip seems to wear off/ be weaker
