if you cut off your cake and leave it in open air, wont the part be open to contams?

yeah guy,you can do that...risky though.you'd have to scrape away all the aborts and the old mycelum on the outside of the cake off with a STERILE scapel or blade.then recase.i've done this sucessfully once and unsucessfully.....more than once.but it definently can be done.and I myself would certainly sterilize the casing.most people dont seem to sterilize casing,but i swear by it.either pressure cook,oven or microwave.give it a shot,just be STERILE.misting with h2o2 is manditory(my 2 cents)
