    #14474451 - 05/18/11 05:27 PM (12 years, 8 months ago)

Im just in the mood to see what all your guy's opinions are on it. What do you guys think happens when you die. What do you think the point of life is? I dont think its really possible to predict whats gonna happen, but im still curious to hear all your opinions.

something like peace through understanding. i wouldn't say there is an objective point to life though. life is what you make it.

htaed. i don't know. death seems as much a reality to me as life. pretty integral part of existence is non-existence. i don't know, i'm just rambling.

death just is?

--------------------

"We are all intoxicated. We were born into an insane asylum, a world crazy-making. We believe what we see and hear. The real myth is the myth of sanity, of rationality: it's a disease that is eating away at the earth. All the poisons flow from our denial. We deny madness, we forget our crimes, we dismember the corpse, we imprison our children. We need poison to poison the poison, to remember the sacred nature of intoxication, the green body of the young god." ~ Dale Pendell

we're always just progressing on the track loop of existence, when you die, it all resets itself. you will experience your entire life in reverse back to your birth, and so on and so on.

Fair enough, but is that the one you are most confident in as being what will happen or was it just one of many options that you chose?

i'm not confident enough in anything to claim it as a prediction or a statement.

like i said that's what flows through my mind everytime i smoke salvia. every thought and action simply another blip in a chain reaction of sense.

really i get a similar sense of reality from every psychedelic, it's hard to wrap my head around it right now to explain what exactly i'm talking about and i don't want to smoke more salvia right at this second lol.

but yea anyways, it's just one of seeming infinite possibilities.  i mean there's so many different conclusions and interpretations of what happens by so many different cultures/people/religions/what have you. obviously i factor in probability, but i never entirely rule anything out because there's no such thing  as absolute certainty.

the one that really intrigues me is singular consciousnesses/reincarnation but what seems the most likely to me is that when you die, conscientiousness stops, because the brain stops, your body decomposes and it's contents return to nature ( unless you're frozen in carbonate or something),. in this view, death is simply a lack of senses, as there is no brain which with to sense.

really i think the concept of death is so brain racking for people simply because the all the brain has ever experienced is life. the brain needs to be alive in order to function, and if it's not it doesn't know it's not because it's unable to with out first being alive to realize such. life is a catch 22

Point of life is obviously to not die.

Death, in a simplistic sense, is probably the end. If there's anything beyond nothing, I'd (the concept of I probably would no longer exist) be very suprised.

Live, Love, and Learn, and forge a relationship with the spirit. So that one may upon death possess at least a rudimentary map of the after death realms.

^A good way to do this is with plant based psychedelics

I disagree with the existence of any spirit

I have been thinking about this for the past couple of months. By asking myself the question "why am I conscious?" I have been coming to the conclusion that death is a "pool," if you will, and once you return to it you will eventually be recast into life. It only seems logical to me that way, I guess you could imagine it as sort of a lava lamp, the 'lava' pools at the bottom and bubbles up, but eventually goes back into the pool and repeats the cycle. So you will die and be reborn, but it is not the same "you." Your former egos have long since ceased to exist. Sorry for the weirdly phrased reply, I can't think of a better way to word it
