has anyone's PC ever actually blown up before?

I wonder how often this type of thing happens...

I wondered this, although i once also wondered about putting reactive explosive chemicals in quart jars and throwing them out of a 10 story window in a pressure cooker at 20PSI just to see what would happen, no im not crazy, i have many safe ideas too :P .

i was thinking more like putting a corrosive substance inside the PC so that it eats through while pressurized. for added effect fill the PC with shards of glass/metal so you'll have GOOD shrapnel.

15 psi really isn't that much pressure.
The compressed air supply in most workshops is about 100 psi
Even the tires on my bicycle are at 40 psi

They dont blow up too often...I've never used one but my grandparents use them all the time and they say that the only time one has ever blown up and they've been around was right after they got married and their parents were cooking w/ one...

ps this was like 40 years ago...

man... there should be a site dedicated specifically to adolescent pyros. It would have all kinds of "safe" bombs they could make with easy to find materials and provide all kinds of tips on how not to die. It would be a magical place.

There is a site like that. I don't have the URL handy, but search for S.C.R.E.A.M.

Student Club of Realistic Effects Animatronics and Makeup.

They have a large pyro section. Other than that, usenet.

*sigh* I still always keep bottles of pottasium nitrate, charcol, and sulfer in my closet. Good times....

Not blown up but I have had the rubber saft valve blown., The PC shot out all the contents through a tiny hole, it covered the whole kitchen totaly made a mess. Not had any recent problems though cos I replaced the safty with a knut,  bolt and screw.
