Gary on Guns
Quote:
Johnson position on Gun Control
The Second Amendment: Individual or Collective Right?
"I don't believe there should be any restrictions when it comes to firearms. None." April 20, 2011, Slate Magazine
Legislations
"If you outlaw guns, only outlaws will have guns. The first people who are going to be in line to turn in their guns are law-abiding citizens. Criminals are going to be left with guns. I believe that concealed carry is a way of reducing gun violence." 12 Nov, 2000, An Interview with Playboy magazine.

thissongis said: I also don't understand why gay people want to enter into a religious commitment to god saying they will be with each other until they die. If there was a gay equivalent to marriage that allowed all of the benefits and downsides, in the eyes of the law, this whole situation wouldn't be a problem.
Or better yet there needs to be an alternative to religious marriage that is for everyone no matter what/who the fuck you are or who the fuck you love. And yes we drawn the line at inanimate objects...
Yeah. It's called marriage. A legal process that can people can chose to perform in a church.
You really don't get why gay people want to marry in a church? You should think about it for five minutes and see what you can come up with.
What I'm saying is I dont see why gay people want to try and get married in a place that hates them, generally speaking. Why does it have to involve a church? The true commitment is between the two persons, not God or the priest/pastor/what the fuck ever. If you are gay and want to be/are Christian you need to look into another religion to get into. Honestly I cant understand why anyone wants to get married in a church other than religious reasons and possibly because of the tradition. Have a fucking party at your house with all of your close friends and family and make you own event, why does it have to be a standard marriage? Like I said in my first post if there is a legal equivalent what does it matter what the event is? You cant force a religion to change its years of beliefs because if you look at history, it doesnt happen all that easily..
Most religious people don't hate gay people.
Anyways Johnson wants to end the drug war, he understands the 2nd amendment, his stance on gay marriage resonates with me.
I think most Americans are a little more financially conservative than what the democrats want and Johnson meets that criteria without infringing on social liberties. I'd vote for the republicans if they changed their view on gay marriage, abortion, and the drug war but they wont. The senseless violence in this country is largely driven by prohibition and it's all a political tool to get re-elected. I find that so disgusting that I refuse to support any party that uses the blood of it's misguided people to get office.
It might take four more elections for the libertarians to finally get some traction. I don't care how long it takes. I just refuse to continue the cycle that I am seeing with the two party system. It leads to nothing and by voting for Obama I am not supporting logic in any shape or form.

marriage isn't just religious, it also has tax breaks... but i still think marriage is stupid, at least with someone you actually are in love with. i would rather marry someone i would never be intimately involved with solely for the tax benefit and have real lover who doesn't need a legal document to show they want to commit their life with me.

You are very correct on the tax breaks and other benefits. My wife and I never intended to get married, in fact every once and a while I will say, "Haha, you're a wife." I still remember the moment of marriage proposal, sitting on our bed, she looks at me and says, "do you want to get married?" I started laughing and she got a funny look on her face. Yup, we where talking about insurance before that, marriage meant, I would then be covered under her insurance plan. Almost 8 years later we are both the same happy couple we where before. Marriage to us is just a legal paper that gives us benifits, we already where together for life before that paper. Our wedding was sweet too, some drunk judge(who later got busted for pot) rolling into the park on his Harley cracking jokes with just my mom and step dad for a witness. Not dressed then up and we still don't have rings.
Oh yeah, and two votes for Gary coming out of this household.

so many GJ supporters. Funny enough, if he loses, then you know the voters of America are fucking dip tards. But we know that anyway. Most people don't know what their voting for. It's sad but true. He's got my vote, I pray I don't lose my voter card before election day. I've got it in a certain spot. If someone re arranges my shit it's

Ordered a couple Gary Johnson buttons and a bumper magnet yesterday from www.garyjohnson2012.com. For only $15 I can spread the word everywhere I go. Who's with me?

Latest email from Johnson's campaign. We're definitely gaining traction.
"Friends,
We have Widgets!
And….we have work to do.
We in the Gary Johnson 2012 campaign have known from Day 1 that we cannot depend upon the national news media to broadcast Gov. Johnson’s message of liberty, smaller government and non-intervention. We have known that the Internet and social media, such as Facebook and Twitter, are key to our success.
Gov. Johnson’s Facebook page is rapidly approaching 200,000 fans, we have tens of thousands of Twitter followers, and on Google+, we have topped 1 million followers – more than Mitt Romney. That is a lot of voters with whom we are communicating each and every day.
But we need to do more. We have created a number of "widgets" – small computer applications that can easily be added to your personal or business website, your blog, or elsewhere. They include general campaign themes as well as specific issues such as drug policy reform and the Federal Reserve.
One of the most valuable things you can do to spread Gov. Johnson’s message is to take a few minutes to add a widget to your website or blog – and I encourage you to do so. Research shows that the Internet is quickly surpassing the media as voters’ primary source of election and candidate information. It is critical that our campaign is there to be found in every corner of the Web.
For more information about how to use Gary Johnson 2012 widgets, please go to our Widget Page. It’s easy, and IMPORTANT.
If widgets aren’t your cup of tea – or even if they are, you’re not off the hook though. As we head into the final 90 days of the campaign, there are all kinds of volunteer opportunities and efforts we need help with. From putting together rallies or events in your area to making phone calls to distributing literature, there is a great deal you can do with whatever time you can spare.
To learn what you can do to help and to “enlist” in our volunteer army, go to www.GaryJohnson2012.com and click on "Get Involved." There, you can find the campaign director for your state. Send them an email or call them to get involved with the campaign.
Between the two of them, Governor Johnson and his running mate Judge Gray will be in 11 states in the next week or so. They are covering as much ground as humanly possible. But for the next 90 days, our campaign must reach EVERY state, and that depends upon you. Whether it is putting a widget on your website or blog – or volunteering in other ways, Governor Johnson needs your help, and more important, Liberty needs your help!
Let’s do some good work – and let’s have some fun!
Thanks,
Ron Nielson
