You are right, but those are videos. Obviously you have not lived in the South. A lot of people down here are extremely kind, but are against gay marriage and homosexuality for religious reasons.
They often give the cliche "I hate the sin, not the sinner" type statement.

I spent a lot of time in New Orleans and that's the view I got as well. I am just saying there are a lot of people that generally hate gays.

I would agree, but you have to call it on a case-by-case basis, not all people against gay marriage hate gays.

They live in America. Everyone deserves the right to liberty and by telling gays they can't marry you just eliminated that right.
The religious people saying you can't have these rights because you love someone of the same sex. How is that telling them how to live? That's telling them that what they believe in unconstitutional. I don't expect or ask people to like gay people or accept them. I am telling that the constitution clearly protects equal rights of everyone.
but there's seperation of religion/government. If people want a religion and declare a ritual "marriage" and say its between a man and a women that is THEIR right. Same as it is for gays to go create a religion and create a ritual called "friends with benifits" between a man and a man.
But here we have a special group trying to dismantal a religion that for formed hundreds of years ago...thats not right nomatter how u cut it.
Im fine with gays being together i think thats great because thats more women for me, im fine with them having their own little rituals and getting tax cuts for living together ect, im not fine with them thinking they can trample all over another religion while waving their gay flags like they are doing it because its their right. If they want that they are going about it the wrong way thats all im saying.

Last time I checked they don't ask for religion when you get married at the court house.
Did I say the churchs must allow people to get married in their church? No, but they still deserve the legal right to marry.

Gays created that? Really, tell me more about that.

well churches are kind of known for you know, marriages, if you go and "allow gay marriage" then obviously they will be able to walk right into one. You think a law is going to pass that says "gays are allowed marriage just not in church"??
thats why the only way to be fair to everyone is to do it like how i said.

What are you talking about? Marriage in churchs is ceremonial. I am talking about from a legal aspect, and a church can turn down gays to marry but many are starting to allow it.
The law should be gays can marry and it's pretty obvious a private institution has the ability to say you can't do that here.

I also don't understand why gay people want to enter into a religious commitment to god saying they will be with each other until they die. If there was a gay equivalent to marriage that allowed all of the benefits and downsides, in the eyes of the law, this whole situation wouldn't be a problem.
Or better yet there needs to be an alternative to religious marriage that is for everyone no matter what/who the fuck you are or who the fuck you love. And yes we drawn the line at inanimate objects...

Yeah. It's called marriage. A legal process that can people can chose to perform in a church.
You really don't get why gay people want to marry in a church? You should think about it for five minutes and see what you can come up with.

You think the law is going to say church's have to allow gays in, marry them and perform their ceremony whether they want to or not?
This law is from a legal standpoint, no one will be forcing anyone to do anything. Like WAW said, they'll be able to walk in a courthouse and get married.
Or get a ceremony from a more open minded church, one that interprets the bible differently than you.

What I'm saying is I dont see why gay people want to try and get married in a place that hates them, generally speaking. Why does it have to involve a church? The true commitment is between the two persons, not God or the priest/pastor/what the fuck ever. If you are gay and want to be/are Christian you need to look into another religion to get into. Honestly I cant understand why anyone wants to get married in a church other than religious reasons and possibly because of the tradition. Have a fucking party at your house with all of your close friends and family and make you own event, why does it have to be a standard marriage? Like I said in my first post if there is a legal equivalent what does it matter what the event is? You cant force a religion to change its years of beliefs because if you look at history, it doesnt happen all that easily..

the two party system is fucking us. If either Obama or Romney wins, we are fucked. Gary Johnson just won't win, he won't get the percentage. I'm still voting for G J, but now I need to figure out, just for my own curiosity, will Ron Paul possibly win?
I just can't imagine Obama OR Romney winning

I don't understand Ron Paul's plan. He didn't drop out of the race, just quit spending money on it. So is he still hoping for the republican nomination? Or expecting all his followers to write him in? I really wish he would have just endorsed GJ. All the momentum he's gaining, RP's followers would be a huge boost.
