5/17:

111 Total = ~3 pounds

I went hunting at dusk, and after about an hour and 45 minutes, I came out with this awesome first haul of the season. The irony of it all...I randomly spotted a Galerina sp. (I believe) which was growing out of the host tree, and the morels just happened to be in my field of vision. I had already walked through the area earlier in the day and saw nothing. I believe the late day light helped with contrast and allowed me to see them better.
Why did I go out again so late, you ask...because I lost my cigarettes! (Never found those, btw. I did find an almost new looking 100w HPS bulb, though )

Nice haul man. I too find that the light has a profound ability to help or hinder my morel hunting. I've never gone after dark like you but early morning light has been a big help to me. Again, nice finds.

Everyone please remember to use a knife when harvesting. It is possible that pulling up the 'roots' with the mushroom can damage the colony.
