A sub will allways bruise blue..
What im saying is that if you find a shroom that looks like a sub, bruise's blue like a sub, its a sub.
Im realy sure you found the right ones, but just for the sake of it, is it blue?

Yeah it kind of did when i went there in the daylight some of them were already bruised. they were freshly picked so ill check in the morning. i squeezed the shit out of it before trying to get a reaction from it. the pictures dont really show it but there is a blue line on the edge of where i pinched it.(picture no. 3 near the cap)might need to do a few tests tommorrow and then ill know for sha!

As far as I know it's a little hit and miss in terms of success, here is a good starting point though. http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/13425527/page/8
...and my own grow which was successful, I think there was a lot of luck with mine though. http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/14302843/page/3

yes, you can remove hte mushrooms carefully from one place, take care not to disturb the white mycelium network and woodchips, then once you get home, spore print your mushrooms onto foil and scrape up the spores and add to water, or print on news paper/paper and blend this spore paper with water.
once you have your spore solution ready, start pouring it into woodchip beds that you wish to spread your mushrooms into. this will start the growing process of the mushrooms, and if your lucky, in the next season, or the one after that, you may have fresh mushrooms sprouting up from that spot.
I do this with all my finds, and any mushrooms that go rotten or i dont dry fast enough, i turn into spore water and redistribute back throughout parks.
it's important to note that there is no ' quick fix ' method of spreading mushrooms from one park to another. just about every method will not bear any fruits for the current season, its too late for that.
if your in it for the long haul, then act carefully and you will be rewarded in time.

I found the perfect habitat today in bush but no sight of anything that looked like a sub... relied on a community park

Just got back from a successful night-hunt.
Found this patch that was growing out of sand. Subsequently the mushrooms have quite a bit of sand on them.
Was wondering whether any of you guys have picked patches like this and if so, how did you get the sand off ?
I was thinking possibly waiting for them to dry then sifting them ?
Or maybe wash them now in water then dry them ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Has been such a fruitful season so far.

(P.S- Sorry about the photos. They were taken on my friend's phone. I have tried to touch them up.)

Yeah, I found a seperate patch and used a proper mushroom bag from the supermarket for them.
I didn't want to mix the sandy shrooms with the others so I grabbed a plastic sleeve from my friends folder and used that.
They are on a mesh screen now airing.
You reckon brush the sand off ? That is going to take a lot of time.
Thanks for the reply.

That's bizarre.
Do you have close up pics of the mushrooms? Did they bruise blue? Were there wood chips under the sand?

Better quality photos for 100% confirmation
The bottom right mushroom; the dark patch is a purple/brown spore drop it looks like.

Here are some close-up photos for you TimmiT.
The one I am holding in my hand is the one I was holding in the earlier photos.
They all seem to be bruising very blue.
I am not sure if there are wood-chips under the sand. There is tanbark in the general area but these mushrooms where no less than 2 metres away from any.
The sand has been there for as long as I can remember. It is alongside a creek.
The mushrooms on the left side of the stick are from a separate patch.

(Again, apologies for the photo quality. I had to use my video camera.)

They are subs for sure... crazy they were growing out of sand.
There must be woodchips underneath. I can't imagine there is enough raw matter in regular ol sand for mushrooms to grow, let alone so prolifically.
I reckon continue to dry them out as you are doing, and once dry just shake them around in a container of some sort. The sand should come off pretty easily once the moisture content/stickiness is out of them. And perhaps to avoid crunching up grains when you eat them, just make tea from them..?
