wine night
    #14468738 - 05/17/11 04:27 PM (12 years, 9 months ago)

I've been trying to cut back from my excessive beer and liquor drinking. Last night was the first night in a few months I haven't had a drink. I bought a bottle of wine for tonight though.

Anyone try this brand before?

Lol, you should listen to LTF. He obviously knows whats up.  As for the wine, I'm not much of a wine drinker.  But I think a couple of glasses of it will get you comfortably drunk.

I have been enjoying wine lately too. It gives me a totally different drunk.

I also have been drinking my familys home made wine. We made two different wines out of mullberries and plums. One is white and one is red.

i've had that wine you purchased before. nothing about it stuck out (neither amazing nor horrid). watch out with the wine, though. some of my worst hangovers have come from wine.

"We are all intoxicated. We were born into an insane asylum, a world crazy-making. We believe what we see and hear. The real myth is the myth of sanity, of rationality: it's a disease that is eating away at the earth. All the poisons flow from our denial. We deny madness, we forget our crimes, we dismember the corpse, we imprison our children. We need poison to poison the poison, to remember the sacred nature of intoxication, the green body of the young god." ~ Dale Pendell

Well that's the point, I'm trying to not get so drunk (especially by myself) every night anymore. I have to drink a six pack to feel content with beer, and almost a pint of booze to make the purchase worth it. It's hard for me to not want to finish off what I bought once I get a nice buzz going.

Two glasses of wine or so is enough for me to "feel" it, plus I feel less guilty drinking it alone vs all that beer/booze

I used to like Merlot but I like Pinot Noir a lot more now....I don't really like white wines I have always been a red kinda dude. I try and buy wines under $20 cause shits expensive at least to drink on a random weekday...some I can recommend are Firesteed and Mirrasou both pretty good for about $10.

Drink better beer. A lot of the good craft brews out there are almost just as strong as wine abv wise.

That's for sure, they're empty calories too. I've lost some weight in the last month just from not drinking.

Some wine gives me a really uplifting goofy drunk. Each kind is different in flavor and effect, which is really appealing to me, kinda like smoking different strains of dank, experiencing the many nuances each strain has to offer.

Oh yeah, I always seem to have one or two bottles of this on hand. A nicely done and inexpensive Cabernet Sauvignon.
