Saddam Hussein's Yacht
    #1446826 - 04/10/03 03:35 PM (13 years, 11 months ago)

If sold, that yacht would have bought a lot of medical supplies and/or food. But... no.... they bombed it...

WTF... the U.S. tax payers can afford a few million more

Now you're starting to think like a leftist. EVERYTHING bad is the U.S.'s fault, everything good is so despite the U.S. Long live irrationality!!!

--------------------
To call humans 'rational beings' does injustice to the term, 'rational.'  Humans are capable of rational thought, but it is not their essence.  Humans are animals, beasts with complex brains.  Humans, more often than not, utilize their cerebrum to rationalize what their primal instincts, their preconceived notions, and their emotional desires have presented as goals - humans are rationalizing beings.

God forbid that I'm labelled a leftist

Let me try a little damage control. The reports I've read make it appear to have been a 'we destroyed your toy, na na nanana!', type of thing.  :smirk:  However reports are only as good as their sources and the known facts. I know of no 'facts' with regard to the yacht. So, see this as just my little rant.

We didn't bomb a yacht, we bombed a symbol.

SOME always will. Others base their opinions on what America does, and could be swayed to have a higher opinion of us if we do the right thing.

You are of course correct. I should have used the word "some".

Although "many" or "most" also would have worked.

It's interesting how some will immediately jump to the 'you hate America', theme if there is anything even remotely anti-government. I am anti-government and I will not apologise for that. If you would even stop to consider that being caught with a few mushrooms will land you in jail for a possible 10 year sentence then... well... I digress. The 'hate America' theme is as lame as the ones on the other side who jump on the 'blame big business, big tobacco, etc., etc., etc.' band wagon.

Give it a rest. If you are referring to me as hating America you are mistaken. I love America but I loathe our government. When clinton was in office I hated our government. I voted for Bush because I couldn't bear to see bore in office. My mistake and, for me, it's proof that the lesser of two evils is not the way to vote.

I should have voted for Harry Browne.

i think it's more of a history with the people on this site. There are pletny of people that HATE the US, that is not an issue that can be debated. It gets old when all that people have to talk about is how much we suck (which the average american couldn't care-less about).

Are you anti government because of the drug laws or Govt. in general? If it is government in general what is a worthy alternative? Anarchy? (the less the government is involved the better in my book)

If harry browne made 1% of the effort needed to become president then i would vote for him in a sec. He is not willing to do what it takes to be president, which is a bummer.

It was suspected of having mines on board. We bombed lots of palaces too. If sold they could have bought lots of food. Why do you care? 24.5 million liberated Iraqis wanted it bombed.

Those who hate America

Get a grip luv, no-one "hates" america, america is land, lakes and trees. People like Bill Hicks and Leonard Peltier were also american.

Just stick with "Those who hate Bush" in future, it's a lot more accurate.
