South Park 100th episode
    #1445829 - 04/10/03 06:15 AM (21 years, 11 days ago)

I can only remember certain details about last nights 100th episode of South Park, but it was a great episode. It was all about the issue of pro-war people vs. anti-war people.

It was a pretty even handed show. It made fun of both sides of the issue. The anti-war people were annoying rabble-rousers, and the pro-war people were narrow-minded rednecks. The conflict split the town in two literally.

Eventually the day was saved by Cartman who electrocuted himself in order to have a cliche' TV flashback. He went back in time and participated in the writing of the Declaration of Independence. When he regained consciousness, he brought the town back together for a scene that showed just about every charactor that has ever been on the show. Towelie made an appearance by the way.

I was pretty high at when I saw it, and i'm just waking up now, so if SS7 or someone can explain it better than I can, go ahead.

Great episode as usual though!

Ya, that shit was pretty funny. But I have to say that I expected something better. Oh well.

Basically, the town's divided between pro-war and anti-war demonstrators who are arguing about whose side the founding fathers would've been on. After the kids are asked by a News reporter whose side they think the Founding fathers would've been on, they say something like, "Founding who?" So, an outraged Mr. Garrison makes them all do a report on what the Founding fathers would've thought about all this. But while the other boys studied, Cartman keeps trying to have a TV-style flashback in order to avoid studying. He finally succeeds when he electrocutes himself with TiVo after recording hours of the History Channel. He sees the people in the Continental Congress arguing over whether or not to go to war with England. Then Benjamin Franklin walks in and says that we should be able to go to war without looking like we really want to by allowing people to protest. So the moral of the story is that America's strength is to be able to say one thing and do the other.

southpark is imho, the best tv show out there, its smart and funny, it exposes all the hang ups, cliches and problems of our society and lays them bare right in front of us. people who feel uncomfortable watching southpark etc, in my opinion cannot face up to what our society is today.

on a lighter note, i didnt watch the damn episode i gotta go looking for it on my sp sites now..damn!
