It's so rarely rainy here that when it is I usually find it very comforting and relaxing, while at the same time stimulating to my creative side.

I enjoy the occasional rainy/gray day. makes for great movie watching/thinking/writing/reading weather.
When i lived in Seattle those gray days stacked up deep in the winter and it became depressing as fuck. Eventually had to leave the Pacific Northwest and one of the mains reasons was the shitty ass winters.
Virtually no direct sunlight for nearly 6 or 7 months straight, no thanks.

lol, it sucks, I've always wanted to check out the northwest because from what I hear it seems to have lot's of cool towns - portland, olympia, seattle, all with lot's of forward thinking individuals crowding around and cool music scenes, etc. I hear portland has really rad green policies and lot's of parks. But for someone like me with seasonal depression...

yes, it's true. The pacific northwest has many epic towns with tons of creative/forward thinking humans. That's been the one thing i've missed the most since moving.
Leaving the pacific northwest for the southeast is about the craziest cultural experience you can have in the lower 48. leaving a place that values and celebrates intelligence and diversity for a place that prides itself in how little has changed since the civil war is sad and scary indeed.

Cold, cloudy days kill my inspiration and generally make me feel like a slug. Living in Indiana, over half of my year blows. Cannot wait for our summer to start in earnest, because it is gorgeous here once it arrives.

Sunshine gives me the happies. I hate the winter because its always dark.
But I hate summer because its always hot. And hate spring cuz it rains a lot.

I love florida rain, on a hot day when a storm runs through, its so refreshing and livens up the environment.

Like someone above said, living in the PNW leaves you in a dark dreary winter, bereft of sunshine for months pretty much.
For this fact, and having lived here for so long, I've come to basically worship the summer as a benevolent god.
If you actually like dreary days of grayness and rain, the PNW should be paradise for half the year.

i will sit encrusted in celestial frost as the thousand year winter passes over my half-merged, semi-elemental vessel, only faintly occupied by just a sliver of consciousness preserved by the perpetual freeze, a consciousness now one with the cold cold plane...

One of my better memories is of a hike up a large-ish hill while it was lightly drizzling, not too cold, I loved it, I love all rainy days.
