speaking of cool hotsprings, Landsnork have you ever read about the rare Hotspring Psilocybe of B.C.?  Its suppose to grow in the fall in tall grass around a hotspring by whistler B.C. maybe your hotspring should be searched too?

i thought cuttys were native to there, they are quite famous. have you checked out the rare 20 pound Pyramid lake cutthroat!! gota search that!!

Yeah I've heard about them, they sound very cool, you should definitely try to find them.

The conditions in Yellowstone are so unique that I bet there's some undescribed stuff around the hot springs and thermal areas.  There's been a lot of research done in the park on thermophilic bacteria but not so much on fungi.  Some of the thermal areas would be a great place for a fungal survey, especially in the spring or early winter.

Yeah, cuttys are native, although they are somewhat threatened due to habitat loss and competition with rainbows and browns.  I have heard about those crazy big cutthroats in Nevada.  I used to really want to go fishing for the Lohantan cutthroats!
