So awhile back i spawned a brf cake to a pint of pasteurized coir/verm and let it colonize for awhile and fruited it tonight since there was a pin spotted. I'll keep pics updated. Just something to keep me occupied while my grains colonize.

basically after you have a fully colonized cake...before it consolidates you birth it , discard the dry verm layer, and put the cake(s) in a plastic baggy and crumble it up from the outside with your hand and pour that in a tray with your pasteurized bulk substrate, mix with a gloved hand, and cover with foil, poke a couple tiny holes and you got yourself a colonizing tray
i just washed the tray with soapwater and waved air dry to clean it since i had no iso alc...you dont have to be 100% sterile when spawning to bulk but you should be the cleanest as possible

The corner turned yellow i lost my cell phone so no pics. But any idea what might have made the corner turn yellow? When misted,...the water droplets turn yellow in a couple mins. And now one whole corner is just piss yellow. Its still in my SGFC with 3 cakes should i toss it? Im not too worried about it spreading into the cakes.
Specificly the corner in the pic. The top left corner.

mycelium on coir tends to yellow as is dries.
in my experience.
actually in this picture you can see it quite clearly.

i layered grains > coir > grains > coir
etc etc
but you can see the grainspawn mycelium staying white, even though it probably has the same amount of moisture as the yellowing mycelium above and below it.

white myc above and below is still alive. and brown one is dead. it covered with metabolic that was secreteded when it fought with mold. and then it dried. or it was happened while cake was dehydrating.IMO
