quick question; Is it okay to throw inedible mushrooms on my compost pile? Or are they certain geniuses of mushrooms that are unwise to use as soil for vegetable crops?

It is ok to compost any mushroom.
Your collection might be Cortinarius cinnamomeus.

based on the pictures that I found on the internets, Cortinarius cinnamomeus fits better to me then croceus specially the gill color of cinnamomeus. I am trying to dye some organic twine white yarn with this right now, I will post pictures when it looks done.

As another non-expert, don't Gyms have a pronounced veil remnant on the stipe? At least in my homie's (Wiscokid's) pics, the BLGs do seem to pretty much reliably have this feature.

I would think these would work great as a dye! Never tried it before but I cut the mushroom into little pieces and boiled them in water for a couple of minutes, lowered the temperature to simmer and added the yarn, left it for about 20 minutes and voilĂ redish orange yarn. I think it would have worked lots better with more then one little mushroom.
