Growing temperature
    #14463932 - 05/16/11 07:02 PM (12 years, 9 months ago)

Hi i am new here on the forum and i live up in the north west and my house temperature stays around 69-72 degrees. is this to low of a temperature to grow cubensis or will it just take them longer to create mycelium and for them to fruit?

thanks any suggestions to how to rise the temp are welcome too.

Oh, that's perfect!
You may notice things move slightly slower than some of the teks say, but don't bother with an incubator.

Should be good.

I concur.  Also, the prescribed lower temperature range for colonizing cubesis mycelium and fruiting substrates is a less then ideal environment for the germination of contaminate spores.

Fruiting in cooler temps causes fruits to form a little slower but the fruits are denser and again, a less then ideal environment for the germination of contaminate spores is created.  Personally, I prefer short, fat fruits over tall hollow ones.  I colonize and fruit cubesis mycelium in the temperature range of 68-71F.

Same here..  and the fruits are definately more dense and weighty...  can't even bend them...
