Blue Mycelium?

Using a substrate of BRF and Verm, inoculated four days ago with 1cc of Cambodian spores. Was only able to sterilize in a pot for 45min, and had to re-punch holes after sterilization so needle would fit. Tried to flame the nail to do this. Haven't seen anyone with contam problems this early, and i thought it was strange that the suspected contam is growing alongside the mycelium, so hopefully this constitutes bruising. Most of my sites are partially blue like this, but this is the largest specimen.

hard to tell, could be bruising from dry conditions in jar but unlikely, so it is probably aspergillus mold contam. Give another day, if the affected area quickly spreads you will need to toss and start over with better technique.

Adaptation never creates a new species or trait, but rather the new species/trait always existed within the parent DNA until circumstances allowed it to be activated. For instance, every wolf has the DNA for poodles, but that DNA would never be revealed without man selectively breeding for it.

that is contaminated, dispose of them outside in a bag, wash the jar and start over.

i did end up throwing 7/8 of the jars out, since the first one i opened smelled bad. I made the mistake of throwing my substrate(leftovers from inoculation), which consisted of moist BRF and verm, in my verm bag, and wallaw i had a different type of mold rendering my big bag of verm useless. One jar i scraped out the mold, as it was small and only on one side, so we'll let him live. The lone survivor makes me happy.

By the time you saw the mold it had already released spores that are all over the "lone survivor." There is no saving a jar by scraping out mold.
