You know that feeling?

You know that feeling when you are thinking of someone or a memory you shared and then it hits you that the person you were thinking of is dead? It's so odd, not necessarily happy or sad, but very odd. Life that was once filled with energy is now just a dead body, cremated or buried under the ground, no longer a person- but a shell.

Yes, I know the feeling very well. I think about my dead friends and family all the time.

Has no one close to you ever died? I've had a good deal of people in my die, but I was younger and not really as attached, but my uncle died when I was older and I was pretty close to him.

Its damn weird when it happens in my dreams. A key figure in my life appears in my dreams quite often I know that something real bad has happened but seems to be all good now. And then I wake up feeling somewhere between and which is I suppose.

I had this guy die, that was my only father figure in my life, and for about 2 years after his death, I would just day dream, and it'd be me and him working in the garage, or at his job. Then I'd realize he's gone. It was like Shell shock for me.
I hear ya 280.
As much as it hurt, I still loved it, cause I still felt close, as time goes on its sad to say it fades more and more.

Es... Dead or just gone... I have began to understand how flippantly I lived in my teens and twenties. It is a sad, unfortunate fact of time/space the past is gone I have lost quite a few pals to death, some to dope, some just drift away... It is the special moments you share that are important

It's also a trip when I think of people that are alive and wonder if were having some kind of synchronized thinking or if its completely random. i sometimes wonder if our thoughts are connected somehow with other people even if you're in a completely different place and time

Usually when I think of those people I already assume they're dead, so I'm not acquainted with that feeling of getting hit by that.
Anyway death is a bitch only for those who keep living. It's a part of this great cycle, and as FractalDust said, people will always live as long as you keep them living.

This is exactly the same story for me.
I had my dad die when I was 15, I wasn't very sad either because I never knew him. I was more upset due to others being sad and that I understood that I'd lost my dad even though I'd never had a conversation with him. My grandma on the other hand, died when I was 12 and that hit home really hard as she was one of my closest relatives.
I know the feeling of not being able to comprehend someone is missing. Its like yesterday, I was talking to them and now they are non existent. except more

I know the feeling. But I wish I didn't. Then I know I only have past memories. I can no longer make new ones.
