OP you probably saw a group coming from a funeral. Cops will escort the cars with their emergency lights on to take the body to the cemetery to be buried.

Well, in Indiana it is at least.
I'm in West Virginia, some people get out of their cars and take their hats off. I rarely stop personally, I mean I could give a shit once I'm dead it's just another bullshit custom.

I know right! I told my wife that she should just cremate me because it's cheaper. Go bury me under a tree or something. Scatter me into the wind in one of the national parks we love so much. Whatever you feel you need to do to get closure. I really REALLY don't want a funeral and a casket and all that waste of space BS.
Get a keg and a bag of weed. Party with my friends or something. I don't want people that didn't even care that much about me staring at my dead body.
Go party with the people we party with. Have a good time.

Years ago I knew a guy that was issued a ticket for "interfering with a police officer ", or some shit like that when he flashed his high beams and another cop saw it. Don't remember the outcome . . .

I have emergency lights in my car because I'm a volunteer emt and a paramedic. We've had times though where for whatever reason a few volunteers will end up driving on the same road and it looks like we have a small convoy (2,3 cars?) with lights flying down the road. Technically my lights have the same rights as police in that if you insist on not pulling over for me, it's a 5 point ticket.
