Went to my grandmas for lunch yesterday, went for a walk and found some at the first park I looked in yesterday  I'll post pics later, on my phone ATM.

One question - they are just in a jar with tissues, in my fridge currently, will that be ok til Saturday? (considering I picked them last night)
Any better ways to keep them fresh? (don't want to have to dry them for such a short time if possible)

Thanks

I would definitely dry them. You've got them in a jar with no way for them to air, they are going to form condensation and turn shit. Either dry them or put them in a paper bag in the fridge, no need for a jar.

I would definitely dry them if you want them to last 6 days. It isn't hard. desiccant in a container, or laid out with a fan/heater pointed on them. Just don't be suprised if you've got a jar of rotting/moldy mushrooms on Saturday if you do nothing.

yeah i was quickly looking at some links this morning and they said to have it in a paper bag, i swear i read to keep them in a jar with tissues to take out as much air as possible, must be wrong as i can't find anything saying anything like that :p (maybe i misread it for dried shrooms)

so they'd last til saturday in just a paper bag in the fridge?
i prefer to eat them as fresh shrooms in whatever i happen to be eating (made a roast and put them in the left over gravy, that was probably my fav so far) rather than dry shrooms. but if it's necessary to dry them, i'll obviously opt for that.

thanks

I think they are a Galerina sp. , definately not Psilocybe subaeruginosa.

My experience has been that if you try to keep your shroomies fresh for too long you run the risk of having them chewed up by the little insect larvae that live inside.

Keeping them in bag in the fridge just until the weekend will proly be alright.

When the weekend rolls around have a look inside them. Break a few open and look inside the caps, see if you find any little white grubs munching away.

I prefer to make a tea coz that way you can strain out all the little critters.

to the guy that dug up the patch - why didn't you find out BEFORE you decided to fist that patch in the anus whether it will work and how to do things. isntead of being like oh well ill just dig up half of this patch and find out later if it works. idiocy.

I'm with you on this one Dose, for those of us that have had our favourite patches raped by obvious noobs it's an incredibly frustrating occurrence. I've no problem with people frequenting the patches I do, in fact I'm pretty sure my favouite one had not been discovered by others, I've told a few close friends and don't mind them taking any because I know they will be courteous to the patch and not unsustainably harvest, As Dosile said it doesn't really matter whether you intended to be harmful or not, the fact that you did not look into it does not remove your personal responsibility.  I had some huge footprints all through the most productive areas of my patch last week with large chunks removed with what appeared to be shovel like precision, there were also cigarette buts everywhere and broken subs, luckily it's one of the furthest patches from me so I use it very rarely and have told a lot of people about it for that reason. But please guys just be mindful of others, the environment and yourselves in the future.

Ok thanks, I think I'll just dry them out tonight to be sure. I'd be mad and probably cry if they had gone moldy or had maggots in them, so best to be safe rather than sorry.

Thanks for the info

I can almost guarantee they have larvae of some sort in them. Put them in front of a heater, when they start to dry out a bit the little fuckers start crawling out.

YES!  FINALLY!

Frolicking around a golf course did me well!  Small mushrooms, but a nice little bunch for a couple of mild trips.  BAM!

Thank YOU rains, grounds and mycellium friends!

Yeah its fair to say the wet summer we had sure made the dormant mycelium happy. I haven't seen mushrooms in such abundance like this for 5 years.

Hey guys, finally signed up after following the forum for a few seasons.

Have had a few hunts this season to no avail :frown:

Low and behold, walking with the family in the weekend found this on the path.

Pitty I couldn't stop to have a look for some more, pretty sure its a sub.

Lots of blue bruising on the stem and cap, found in some pretty wet bushland.

Sorry I couldn't take any picture of the terrain.

Any chance of feeling any effect off 1 mushroom?

Chers guys!

Can anyone see any bruising on these? :lolsy:

These were a bit rotten in the stem :frown:

I found this guy trippin bawls

Found a new patch

I also had a very heavy trip that night - didn't have my scales on me, but ate 11 subs which kicked me in the balls. I was thinking of ways to kill myself during the trip it was so bad. The best plan I came up with was to run through the CBD to the Yarra river and drown myself, luckily I stayed in bed and rode it out and I'm very happy I did. Even happier I didn't think of an easier way to off myself.

I thought I was dying and I'm guessing I was close to ego death but didn't go to the other side. That's also my first bad trip. There are other details, but this isn't a trip report heh

Went to collect from my patch this morning only to find someone else had got to it first, and ripped them all up pins and all... RAGE...

And the definitely weren't using scissors either, judging my the many discarded inactives around the patch.

Literally none left. Was such a good patch.
