You're really gonna want a lot of room to maneuver. Inoculation isn't usually a graceful process. In this pic, you can see my kill-two-birds solution (they're armholes, I covered them with plastic wrap when I converted to FC). It seems to have worked just fine.

You don't 'need' a glove box for inoculation, though it is nice. You will need one sooner or later so you might as well get one you like.

there easy to make, a large can heated up can melt holes through the plastic.
You can even make one from a cardboard box my using cling film as your see through lid (thats what i used and it never failed me)
Its really important to use one so you can enjoy a high success rate, i tried without in a small room and got a 90% contam rate.

For sure, that's what I figured. I didn't have a metal can available when i made mine and I used a skill saw that pretty much raped my box. It's pretty much just 1 large hole in the front of the box..But It's better than nothing, It's worked fine through 3 innocs so far (no contams yet.) But if I do something other than PF tek ill probably make a new one and get tyvek sleeves.

A glovebox isn't necessary, but for a high rate of success, at least a still air box is absolutely necessary. You only need arm holes, not gloves. The idea is to have still air. Construction of one which will deliver 100% success is shown in part 2 of the brf tek videos. RR

If you run a hole saw, run the saw in reverse after you make the initial pilot hole. That will keep the plastic from cracking.
It sounds insane but it works amazingly well.

This is also how you should cut anything that is molded plastic.

A glove box, or a still air box (like RR suggested) is good to have. Although I don't have one. But it's true that I probably have more contaminations than someone that does use one (correctly).
The reason I don't use one is that I'm still perfecting my grow techniques and it doesn't matter if I get contams. I'm still learning. When I'm at the point that I feel comfortable and my technique is optimal, than I'll start using a glovebox.
I feel like it's something for the pro's if you know what I mean

By that time you won't need the glovebox for inoculation, technique beats equipment.

I used a jig saw to cut my holes. Drill 3 holes around the circumference as starter holes and cut with the saw.

Not for inoculation. I do use a glove box when I have open spores or open dishes. A flowhood isn't in budget, even if I had room for one.

I used the Multimaster for the entire job,it worked very well. I am not forced to do can sized or hole saw sized holes. My CD cake box "sleeves" are the cat's meow (for me).
