That would be a 16/1 ratio. I'd say slim to none chance of it making it. Break the brick up & try a 1/4 brick. JMO

you need way more spawn then that for a brick of coir. for the amount you intend to use, you need 81.25 grams of coir , 1 pint of verm and 1 pint of water. Sub whatever you want for poo by weight, but keep those proportions

i did a successful half brick with a pint a while ago you dont think that mabe if breaking up cakes to tinier pieces than rye or wbs bits would increase the chances of success

it wont increase your odds of success, in fact by introducing another contamination vector you're decreasing your odds of success. Which is why WBS or grains work as better spawn because they readily break up into bits.
Coir doesn't contaminate readily, so you can do whatever works for you. If you already had success with it, then why would you ask? How long did it take to colonize that half brick? In the proportions I gave it'll take about 10 days

I've heard the same thing about hillbilly, but don't have any. But give it a try & let us know.

Curious...curious to see what happens. I have been thinking about spawning 3q to half a brick of coir. Maybe 2q would be a better idea..

I usually do 2 quarts of spawn for 1 brick of coir. Seems to work out fine.

i decided to fruit the tub despite it not looking 100% done because i just realized i added too much water to the substrate *that green trich looking stuff is just light reflection from the tub

couple of cc's of metabolites i poured into a container

If you'll sterilize the coir and keep it sterile in a filter patch bag until full colonization, you can drop the spawn rate to 1:20. Bear in mind, the grains/brf inoculant are a major nutrient source, so there's certainly a point of diminishing returns. RR
