Long term effects of MDMA

Is MDMA in the "hard drug" category. I really know nothing about it, so please understand my stupidity here. What are the long term effects on the mind and body, and is this more dangerous than drugs such as acid or shrooms?

Go to erowid.org look up MDMA and it will have almost all the information for you to decide wether you think it is more or less harmful than other said chemicals.
If you cant navigate Erowid try typing MDMA into Google look at its Wiki page.
Technically MDMA could be classed as a more harmful drug, because of its neurotoxicity.
but really one off uses or once every few weeks poses no real damage on the average mind.

Erowid is your best resource for learning about drugs. Learn how to use erowid, as it can be your best friend.

http://www.erowid.org/chemicals/mdma/mdma_neurotoxicity.shtml
It a bit, on both sides of the fence, but alot of nice articles to read if you have the time.
i have also found that taking a (sub)threshold dose 30 minutes before you take your recreational dose can cause a decrease in a hangover the next day.

fuck i never implied they are hard drugs. I was saying in comparison to drugs such as these (which i know have no physical harm) would I be safe to assume that taking mdma would have as little effects on my body as these drugs. Sorry if I seemed to imply they are hard drugs.

There should be little to no long term effects unless you FREQUENTLY do MDMA. Everything is fine in moderation.

In comparison to alcohol, which would you consider worse for your health.

Because everyone knows doing alcohol frequently is dangerous, so would you treat mdma the same way?

Alcohol is a lot harder on your brain and your body than MDMA.

That's what I expected. Alcohol seems to be worse than 90% of illegal drugs.

That's always a great defense. "I may be ingesting antifreeze, but AT LEAST IT'S NOT ARSENIC!"
Comparative use is a flawed means of risk analysis. You will always find something that makes what you do sound safe. But the only true comparison is use vs NON-use. And using something that screws with your brain for recreational purposes is riskier than not doing so.
That being said, I took a "Biochemistry of Addiction" course that studied many addictive substances. MDMA/Ecstacy was the only chemical we studied that spurred >50% of the class to say "I want to try that." Because of all the substances we studied, it seemed to pose the least risk for the effect. Faced with this feedback, the biochemistry professor was unable to offer a compelling reason why we shouldn't. He just stammered and said he was surprised. And the class moved on...

This whole place and probably the entire internet is turning into 4chan. This guy isn't coming into our secret little "no girls" clubhouse and demanding to be one of the guys, he just wants some goddamn advice so he doesn't hurt himself. Why do you expect him to know this stuff? HE CAME HERE TO ASK FOR HELP.
Why don't we have "newfag" (typing that made me vomit) smilies for people who are new to these drugs? Then when newbie threads like this one pop up, the first guy can just post :newfag:, and the next guy can just quote that guy and so on for 3 pages. GENIUS!!! What about young people who are just getting into the proper age for substance use? Let's yell at 'em for being born late!
The human tendency to separate ourselves from the "other" is fucking stupid. If you consider yourself an intelligent person and you still fall for such a trap, I have news for you.

4chan and memes are funny as hell, but I'm agreeing with this dude. The way OP phrased it ALMOST made it sound like he was trolling though. But once I read it some more I realized he was asking if it was unharmful like LSD and shrooms. ANYWAYS. From what I understand, do it often and it's bad, stick with 1-3 times a month and you're good.

it's an amphetamine, so it taxes your body systems a bit. it definitely depletes serotonin in the brizzain efficiently (why it's such an awesome drug.) whenever i roll, i always have the nagging sensation that something deep inside of my body is being shredded... but i get that from caffeine as well.
