for fuck sake. i wish the damn newbs didnt learn about taking woodchips and putting them in their back yards. now every newb and their dog is going to be diggin up and ruining patches, and probably fucking up the patch in their own backyard, so its ends up as one giant cluster fuck. YOU NEED TO LEARN RESPECT

Calm the fuck down. He is new to hunting, i didn't know how the mycelium network worked when i first started picking, so give him a break.

I've been hunting for 7 years and even i've got a big plant tray full of mycelium ive dug up from my OWN yard where actives grow as a little experiment to see if anything grows. I've transplanted about 5-6 mushrooms already growing, from pins right up to mature ones to hopefully spread spores and continue spreading the mycelium network so we'll see what happens. If it doesn't, i couldn't care less however its a little experiment i felt like trying.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but i don't think they will grow. If they do they wont grow very well.

It's near impossible to artificially cultivate woodchip-loving actives from the articles ive read and the guys ive spoken to in the cultivation forum, not sure why they just dont like it. But eh, im giving it a go anyway.

the shit just pisses me off that people ruin patches without even having a clue what they are doing. i have no problems with someone who knows what they're doing transplanting patches or spreading mycelium around. it just pisses me off that ignorant idiots with no idea what they are doing try to stumble their way through something like this and end up ruining it for everyone else.

to the guy that dug up the patch - why didn't you find out BEFORE you decided to fist that patch in the anus whether it will work and how to do things. isntead of being like oh well ill just dig up half of this patch and find out later if it works. idiocy.

Why are you assuming I "dug up half the patch"? Because I didn't. I was there when this happened, you weren't. I took a few mature subs and I cut the stems with scissors, I also left the majority of the pins to grow and be picked by others, and before I left I took two or three wood chips with me, is that a crime? I realise now that I made a mistake, I feel bad about it and I have learnt a lesson that I will no doubt share with others. I don't know how your parents brought you up but calling people idiots for making human mistakes is both sad and rude. Its ironic that you told me in all caps to learn how to show respect to mushrooms when you don't even know how to show it to other people.

you took two or three woodchips?? it looks like you took enough to cure hunger in ethiopia.

please dont do this again without actually having a clue on what your doing. Learn how to do it properly first, and know exactly what and how you are going to do everything before you even begin carrying out something like that.

i have a high ammount of respect for mushrooms and the glorious environments that provide them to me  F R E E  O F  C H A R G E, year in year out. i have little respect for overzealous characters who unknowingly potentially ruin these things for myself and others.

its sad and rude that you have the audacity to shit all over that patch and destroy it without even knowing what your doing.

anyway enough of this, lets move on.

I for one reckon it will work as long as you keep them well hydrated and out of direct sunlight.

Went to my grandmas for lunch yesterday, went for a walk and found some at the first park I looked in yesterday  I'll post pics later, on my phone ATM.

One question - they are just in a jar with tissues, in my fridge currently, will that be ok til Saturday? (considering I picked them last night)
Any better ways to keep them fresh? (don't want to have to dry them for such a short time if possible)

Thanks
