PF tek fail

So I made my first PF tek about 2,5 weeks ago and I failed with about everything you can fail with. So i decided to throw them away and make new ones. But when I started opened them up , 4 of them(out of 9) had really light foamy mycelium spreading on top layers. I wasn't able to see it because the top was covered with foil. Question is, should I keep the ones with mycelium or throw them away as well? As I already opened them and they might be contaminated. Can't make any pics because I dont want to open them up again and ruin any chances of getting a grow. Sorry for bad english

You shouldn't still have foil on the lids. What are you using for the jars? Actual jars or cups?
Your contam barrier is the layer of dry verm on top.
I'd toss them if you opened them & they're not 100%, because you're guaranteed to get a contam then, seeing has BRF is extremely prone to contams, due to it being so nutritious.
GL, buddy & don't get discouraged, we've all failed before & learn more from failures than success.

I'm using cups. With 2 layers of foil. One covering the holes made by needle. Thanx for responses. Am probably making new ones unless these pictures say anything good to someone ...
Will never give up. I'm really excited even because something started to grow

no they don't, you shouldn't have any myc on top of the dry verm barrier. You have to make sure to get the needle past the verm layer when inoculating.

Learn from the mistakes and do it better the next time. It's an interesting hobby :-)
