I bought brown rice and grinded it up with coffee blender. Should be as good as any. Or even better

Mix with flour? Really?
All i did was grind my BR to a powder, and called it BRF. Workin' fine for me so far (assuming i get my pins soon).

Lol, yeah, it becomes flour when you grind it. You just need to mix it with your verm. and water.

Rye flour works really good, I've used it for most my PF grows. I use just a tad less than I would using BRF, to get the proper texture to the substrate.

guess i dont know the exact answer but..
All rice flours have more nutritional value than traditional processed and enriched wheat flours. That said, brown rice flour is even more nutritious than white rice flours because it is processed with the kernel which is where much of the nutrients are stored. Brown rice flour is a great source of B vitamins, iron and fiber.

other grains work. I've seen rye flour, millet flour milo flour corn flour. About anything will work, brown rice just works really good and is easy for people to get

As far as i know, brf just has more usable nutes available. I have also read that the starch content is different and has some sort of effect.
Every time ive read someone 'altering' a established routine around here, it usually doesn't end well (especially for us noobies). Id just try to find a bag of Brown rice and grind it yourself
