spawning incomplete jars
    #14455667 - 05/15/11 11:04 AM (12 years, 8 months ago)

Hey guys, so i have some wbs quart jars that are about 80-90% colonized at this point. They should be done by now, but i know the moisture content of this batch was a little high. So to this, they have stalled and the bottom portions wont colonize all of the way. I plan on spawning to mono's.

Im sure it's do-able, but has anyone had success just rinsing off the uncolonized grain and spawning as usual? This is what i think i am going to, just wanted to check and see if this is a common practice.

yeah just slice off the uncolonized part and make sure there is no bacterial funk smell.

Evolution is Lamarckism in disguise.  Adaptation never creates a new species or trait, but rather the new species/trait always existed within the parent DNA until circumstances allowed it to be activated.  For instance, every wolf has the DNA for poodles, but that DNA would never be revealed without man selectively breeding for it.

cool sounds good.

i know these jars are sterile and good, just stalled due to moisture and i don't want contam to be able to get at the uncolonized grain
