wood land something or other?

Habitat:
Where does it grow? Eg. woods, pasture, state, province, country, altitude, etc. What does it grow on? Eg. soil, dung, wood (dead, living, what kind of wood?), etc.

in a conifer forest growing in the moss. solitary

Gills:
Color, attached/not, gills/pores, etc.
whitish, close, not attached

Stem:
Length, diameter, color, texture, hollow/solid, thin/thick, etc.

cream colored, tapering, larger at the base.

Cap:
Diameter, color, texture, conical/spherical, convex/concave, etc.
light browinish to pinkish , uplifting margin, splitting

Spore print color:
Very important!

Bruising:
Color that the mushroom bruises, if any.

Other information:
Scent of the mushroom, anything else you think is important, large close-up pictures showing stem, cap and gills.

just a random mushroom that i found this week. this weekend is very slow with no new finds. :thumbdown:

see plain old boring mushrooms are the hardest to id i think!! :lol:

but i think your right,  G dryophilus is probably correct. the buttery appearance of the cap sold it for me.

our forests here are usually littered with G peronatus!! they take forever to rot so but late in the saeson it almost seems they are the only thing standing!
