Four days in San Fran - places to visit?

Hey, I'm from Australia and going to NY later this month but have a stop over for four days in San Fran. Does anyone have any tips for places worth visiting? I'm staying in Berkeley and plan to go to the Berkeley Flea market and Alcatraz. Any ideas for places to visit and pubs/venues would be much appreciated. I'll be there between the 26th and 30th of May.

I spent a weekend there once and the guy above me hit all the major stuff that I know about. There is of course other stuff like the famed City Lights bookstore known as the birthplace of the Beat movement.

Grizzly Peak in Berkley is also an awesome place to see some views at night if you can get a ride up to the top.

Coit Tower's pretty cool if you get there before the crowds. EDIT with pic: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/2d/SanFran_downtown_panorama.jpg
I came in here to say Golden Gate Park, which has already been said though.

Get up to Broadway and Chinatown. Don't know if it is there but 'The Stone' was a really good heavy club on Broadway before.

Oh yeah, not really into heavy metal. More into folk and alternative rock... The tenderloin looks like a pretty interesting area. From the description on Wiki it sounds like an area we have in Sydney called Kings Cross.

Pick up a metro paper or similar outside a coffee shop and flip to the event calender. As for food the sunset district has a lot of good Indian/Pakistani Asian and Russian food...

Been 10 years since I lived there, so take my reccomendations with a grain of salt:
Osha Thai Noodle Cafe, a "locals only" type place because it's not really near anything touristy, but it's worth it.
Pizza: Victor's Pizza (Grab a slice while soaking up Polk street people watching)
If you're still in the Polk area, grab a gyro from Myconos (like right next to Victor's). Just watch your MONEY. The guys there love to "accidentally" charge too much or assume that the 20 you handed them was for the tip....
If your adventurous, wander deep into china town and pick a chinese food place at random (not on the main strip.) You'll probably get some looks, but the food will probably be great
I was I could remember the name of the all-you-can-eat indian food buffet. Was only for lunch, and it was another one of those "locals only" places that pretty much just catered to all the M-F working stiffs.
edit: It's called MOURYA. I see it has mixed reviews, but I always found the food good. And they kept the Naan hot, buttery, and plentiful
