I got the same comment on MO. I actually did think they were slugs and had to poke them before I realised they were mushrooms

Pretty awesome hunt today. Spent about 2 hours out with lots of encounters.
Not bad pics for my 3 year old point & click whose lens cap won't close.

These guys were as I was walking to the park. I had a good feeling after seeing them.

Locky, they're actually a star shape when they first come out. The tips of the stars have rotted away. I don't know their real names I just call them star-dudes ALSO they're cool!

It was fruitful day at my local reserve. Volvariella speciosa

Hebeloma sp.

Fungi 1. Not sure.

These Mycena were found a few weeks back. Some caps were huge, about 25mm across.

Bolbitius titubans

Fungi 2. Has orangish spore print. Maybe a Galerina sp.?

Gymnopilus austrosapineus

Fungi 3. It has a light vanilla-tan spore print.

Gymnopus sp.

Marasmius sp. 1. Colours of the caps were biscuit.

Marasmius sp. 2. Colours of the caps were peachy-orange.

Marasmius sp. 3. Sorry, no photo of the cap. Hopefully I will get more photos of these in the coming weeks.

Hymenopellis sp.

Clitocybe sp. I think.

Ramaria sp.

Laccaria sp.

P. sub.

Scleroderma cepa.

Great finds everyone
Dr. Zoidberg: I also have an el cheapo P&S. They can take some decent shots when they want to. Although I'm considering buying a new camera soon.
Lord Mayo: Stunning photos as usual. Those Bolbitius pics are amazing! I'm probably not much help with the unknowns but 1 could be a Leucopaxillus or similar, 2 I don't know but it's really interesting, 3 was the pileus hairy? It looks like a Crinipellis. Aus apparently has two species C. stipitaria and C. australis the latter usually grows on Themeda grass.
Things still haven't really kicked off up here yet, but i'll add a few recent finds. I decided to hunt in the moss under dense thickets of chinese scrub because it's still fairly dry.
Galerina marginata

Tubaria sp. (something along the lines of T. conspersa)

Pycnoporus coccineus

Mycena austrofilopes

and a Lepiota sp. that was growing in my garden

Yep, pileus was hairy. Crinipellis australis is quite fitting - growing from dead grass (posibbly Themeda) and hard to photograph for that reason.
Those Lepiotas seem quite common, surely it would be described somewhere...

Looks like I mixed up the numbering a bit but you still knew what I was talking about... 3 = Tubaria sp. and marasmius 3 = Crinipellis
I think you're right about the Lepiota. I've seen quite a few finds of this species (or at least very similar). I might try to ID it properly next time I see it.

Awesome little Mycena It could be Mycena fumosa
I'm calling the Lepiota from my garden Lepiota subincarnata. It's common name is the "Fatal Dapperling", apparently a very toxic little mushroom.

Yup I reckon that might just be the one TimmiT.
I found another log with heaps of them but the hole was too small and they were too far down to get a photo. Totally awesome to see though.
I was supposed to go hunting yesterday, I spent the day recovering from what turned into a 16 hour pub crawl though.
