Presto 16qt Pressure Canner and Cooker
    #14453651 - 05/14/11 09:32 PM (12 years, 9 months ago)

How's it going? Well I recently invested in a Presto 16qt Pressure Canner and Cooker. On the box it says it can hold 10 pint jars. When I self-tested its jar capacity, I was able to get 8 in their standing upright with 4 on their sides on top of the upright ones. So I'm a little confused about that. Is 12 safe? Also, it comes with a metal disk for the bottom that keeps jars about half an inch off the bottom of the PC. Is that enough space between the bottom of the jars and the PC? Any other advice or comments about this thing that some of you may own would be appreciated.

I have the same one. As long as you can fully close the lid and the vent isn't obstructed you'll be fine. That metal disk they included is enough.
