Grandma died today
    #14451463 - 05/14/11 01:47 PM (12 years, 9 months ago)

so it goes

its really hard to see the way it is effecting my family.

i have been visiting her the past several months as her health has been deteriorating and she could not leave the edit:old folks home. i think its kind of fucked up she was put in there in the first place as they just drugged her up, she couldnt eat an could hardly drink, and would never walk and hardly talk. they said she was on a "patch", whatever that is, probably some sort of opiate.

i wonder where to go from here. i feel as though ive been mourning her death for weeks now. now that she is dead i dont really feel anything. im not sure what to say. i dont even feel like attending the funeral.

above everything though i do want to pay her final respects. i want it to be between me and her though. im writing her a poem that im just going to read to her at her gravesite. she was a really down to earth person. im sure she would scoff at all the people mourning her death. she was a hilarious and passionate person in life.

love gramma!!

i know how hard it is to watch a loved one deteriorate slowly, and i know exactly how you feel right now.  it's ok to just let her go and move on.

Loved ones leaving this world is never easy. Remember her fondly, as I'm sure you will. Carry your memories of her with you, and live your life in love. I'm sure she'd want that. Grandmas are awesome. So sorry.

i remember when my grandmother died, i felt the ame way. everyone was so upset mourning. i could have seen her mourning and i'll bet she would have just thought it was ridiculous.

still very sad though, i'm sorry she is gone. hope everyone remembers her for what the good things she was worth, and uses that for knowledge.

Scoffing at all the people mourning her death, eh? I bet she's having a party while people are being sad over it. Just remember the good times.

Definitely.  This happened with my grandfather.  Rather than clinging to mourning and sadness, I let him go and try to pay some tribute to his life in my own way when I think of him.

Condolences, OP.

and I will have the will, strengthened

at the crucial moments I’ll recover
my spirit as was before: ascetic.”

Sorry, my condolences.  You won't forget her.  Celebrate her life and remember the positive and good times.  Since she was passionate, you be the same.  It'll only make her happier.  You've got more to accomplish in this world.
