I agree, due to the brown gills.
As for the translucent-striate margin, both species can display it. This P. cinctulus picture I happened to take this morning demonstrates it to some degree.

With some sulfuric acid and a scope, we could solve this problem very easily.

It's all good! You must admit Thinker does have a point about the margin, though. Upon him bringing up the notion I realized I've never really observed such a pileus on a Pan, but there's a first time for everything!
It is all good brotha .. The thinker does have a valid observation.

hyperjump, you need to start being a little more.... um... humble, i guess.
when you reject people opinions, who are more educated than you, that are trying to help you I.D your finds, it won't make them very eager to help you in the future.
but of course, you just KNOW that what you have is active, and no one is going to convince you otherwise
i can't give my opinion because you are paranoid and deleted the pics
have fun "tripping" on your "cincs", hopefully someday you will find some actives, maybe even enough to trip on, and you'll learn how mushrooms deal with cocky little bastards.

dude is trying to tell me to be more humble when he came across as an asswipe. Kinda hypocrital don't ya think? I mean, really- he ASSUMED I deleted my pics because of paranoia...not to mention I already had a spore print. I APPRECIATE everyone who gives me help, but his post was UNCALLED FOR. i would have guessed maybe Panaeolina foenisecii or Psathyrella
Not really. I guess its a Psathyrella.

maybe you can further educate Mr. Rockefeller on the finer points of identification since you're just so DAMN good
